Nice course

First time to this course, nice flat course. My only issue is the first 3 holes you have to be on your toes as the driving range is close by, a couple of balls came are way but no shouts of fore to alert us, the other 15 holes were splendid to play, will definitely return to play.
Club house bar was great, food we had was quickly served very busy place

Lovely Day Out

Ferndown Forest was a lovely course ideal for my group of average golfers, we were met with a very friendly greeting in the fantastic golf shop and again in the bar after our round where we all enjoyed a meal. I would recommend to any group looking for a flat, easy walking course that will challenge your game.

good course

the weather was pretty bad and could only play 9 holes, these holes where in pretty good condition considering the snow and rain we've had. it was only £10 and they said i could play as many holes as i liked so the score card isn't a true round but i played quite well and was playing 2 balls and just practicing really. will definitely be playing this course again.

A very good course, short but technically tricky. My advise is don't be greedy with the driver.

We played Ferndown on golf tour to Bournemouth. The course presentation was superb, one of the best courses I have played on. Greens were pretty quick, there had been a major comp the weekend before we played so they had slowed them down a bit but still fast. Beautiful scenery around the course. Friendly welcome in the clubhouse and pro shop.

Played there on 4 November after a lot of rain the day before. The course has had a lot of work done on it in the last 18 months and I was extremely impressed with the course conditions. The front 9 is relatively short and there are some decent opportunities for birdies. The back 9 is longer and tougher, with the focus on well placed tee shots rather than distance. The final hole is a relatively short par 5, allowing a well hit tee shot an iron into a tight green with a river following in front of the green. The greens are true and in light of the recent rainfall, there was no standing water, although the odd green was wet. Overall, its a great course with a lot of work being put into it to improve it. I paid £10 for the round today and it was worth every penny.

Played this course for first time today (Aug 2014) I really enjoyed it, greens ran nicely and fairways were in great condition.
I thought the layout was good, giving a wide variety of different club selection off each tee.
It's the type of course where you need to work out a certain route toward the green, with plenty of trees, bunkers and water hazards you can't just straight line it to the hole.
Very suitable for beginners like myself as it's quite flat, wide fairways and a great price at £10 through Teeofftimes.co.uk
Will definitely play here again.

Played there a few times recently with my dad and a few friends. Very reasonable price for a course like this. Very well maintained greens and just a great course to play. The shop there is well stocked for all the basics and the pro there was very helpful when it came to finding a good driver for me. The clubhouse there also does great food when you've finished your round - so much so I've been there since just for dinner!

Been to Ferndown Forest a few times now and it is certainly the best value in the area. I wasn't expecting much considering the modest pay and play fee but I was surprised how good it was.

I understand it has gone through some recent improvements and there are more to follow.

I've booked in a few lessons on the driving range which is pretty good value also. They use a fancy bit of software to analyse your swing etc and I am in the process of getting some custom made clubs - also excellent value for money.

I don't normally play too much over the winter but next year I will become a member for sure.

Ferndown Forest is a fun & challenging course that represents good value for money. Not the longest of courses but still tricky in places, it requires intelligent golf without being too difficult.

Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I popped into the pro shop to pay my green fees and buy some more golf balls and I found the resident pro to be very friendly and helpful.

I am considering upgrading my golf clubs and the shop has an excellent selection of clubs for a mid handicapper like myself and the prices I looked at, couldn't be beaten online. They also offer a custom fitting service, using flightscope, which I think is a must if you're looking to buy a new set of clubs these days and isn't
something many places offer.

Will definitely be back soon!

Get here if you can. A tight and challenging course with trees, water and bunkers in nice locations. Greens are small and sloping.

Don't think the length makes it soft. Plenty of doglegs guarded by everything from trees to gorse bushes mean shot placement is paramount. You need to know how far your shorts irons go!

Great food and drink at Inn on the Tin (beware the spicy chilli con carne!) and really friendly members. The ladies who patiently followed behind us came and had a chat and asked us what we thought of the course and recommended the big breakfast!

I will definitely return when I get the chance.

Tee'd off at 0.6.30 this morning. Greens in very good condition and the fairways whilst not overly wide are in excellent condition for this time of year.
Whilst there are lots of trees and bushes, it is also a very forgiving course for the wayward.
This is an excellent heathland course and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to have a days carefree golfing.
Apart from the course, there is a fully stocked golf shop, a Chinese restaurant and The Inn on the Tin pub, after the 18th not only does a good beer, but the best breakfast/lunch that you could ever wish to eat. Give it a try.

Great value for money

It is quite a short course but has been well looked after and they keep improving it which makes it even better. Driving range is brilliant. All friendly and with the Covid 19 it was all running very smoothly. Will definitely play again and probably look at a membership as they also have great reciprocals
