Very hot afternoon, starting at 33C and finishing 24C made for a physically testing round. Society stableford competition with 21 players in which best score was 30 and I managed 26. Course was in good condition except for semi-rough which was mown too high and we suffered too many lost balls in this. Also some blind summits to greens which we had no way of hitting except by luck, e.g. 14th - not good for visitors.

First the I had played the course. Well looked after, even had receptacle for broken tee's and divot replacement soil available on tees. Greens were the best I have played on for many years, true and pretty fast. Maybe the rough was not so challenging but the established trees and well placed bunkers made up for that. Overall, very good with a friendly, welcoming pro shop….which cannot be said of a lot of places. Well done.

Very fast greens. Fairways were wet in places causing the ball to plug at times.
Tee boxes were well maintained and flat.

Good greens and bunkers. Fairways and rough showing signs of wear and tear, but the course is in pretty good condition considering the recent weather and time of year.
