It's basically painted mud. After 3 weeks of good weather I'd expect there to be grass on the greens at least. Only positive is the layout.

I have played here many times before over the previous couple of years and enjoy the course, but have to say that I was extremely disappointed today! The course, in general, from tee to green is fine but I must say I thought the greens were shocking!! Constantly bobbling and don't seemed to be as well looked after as other courses! Also many bunkers were without a rake and if you end up in 1 you're often in someone else's foot hole!! Not up to previous standards

Been playing at Duxbury for over 20 years, and whilst the layout has improved a bit over that time, the same problems with drainage still remain. If there has been rain in the previous 7 days, then this course will be wet, without question.

Arrived at 0730 for tee off at 0750, went to shop to pay for round and enquire about a buggy. i was barred from going into the shop by someone who told me i could'nt go into the shop as she was not ******* ready yet (nice). I enquired about a buggy whilst waiting for the girl to get the shop open to be told that " only 3 had been booked that day and only 3 are being used". The manner of this man was unbelieveable, i explained to this gentleman that i had a metal pin in my leg from kneecap to my ankle but to no avail. I managed to get round and my leg did swell up but not as bad as usual. I went to Duxbury to see what it was like for my society of 62 members with the view of having a game there in tne not to distant future, sadly this will not be happening. What got me annoyed was when i got back 2 of the buggies had not moved end of rant. The catering staff were a credit to themselves but the shop and this gentleman need a good shake up.

depending on when you catch this course it can be a really pleasant day out, it's one of my favourite muni's, the weather was much better than the day before so we enjoyed a lovely day out, a couple of interesting dog legs a long with some short but testing par 3's make for a good day, there is a cafe which always seems to taste good and a well stocked pro shop

Going downhill rapidly her I`m afraid. A lot of money has been spent on a plush new clubhouse that would have been better spent improving the course drainage which is appalling.
Its virtually unplayable in the winter months because of this but is is usually in good condition in the summer time. Expensive prices in the clubhouse for food and drink -it was never like this here but I suppose the middleman has to make a profit somehow. These municipals would be better run by the council but instead they hand over the running of them over to private companies who appear to be only interested in their own gain. Tell them they next time they knock on your door asking for your vote.

as a member at Duxbury, i made a mistake joining this course, in summer you can take over 5 hours to play 18 holes, due to slow play and no one out on the course speeding things up, in Winter (dont bother) extremely wet underfoot, even though drainage works in 2022, bunkers were as bad as they get all through the course and most greens bad, loads of leaves all over the fairways, grass to long and when cut they dont collect the grass, just leave it. spend a little bit more money and join a club that has respect for the members. i wont be rejoing but the layout is good, with a little more effort what would it become...

Good course

Enjoyable round, as others say there may be a little bit of waiting round, but we got round in 3.5 hours on a Sunday morning. The course was a bit wet in places, but to be expected due to the amount of rain in the last 48 hours.

Improving

Surprised on my round today that so much improvement work had been done. New paths all over the place and drainage work done in areas which often flood.
It's the first time I've been able to look back down a hole here and see the definition between fairway and rough. Hopefully the improvement will be ongoing as this has the layout to be a stunning track.
The downside was the price. £28 is steep for a muni when you can play chorley, Leyland, hart common etc in the area for a lower price. The holes also need to be moved more often as they were well worn around them and not one flag on the course sat straight in the hole.
Good to see it getting some TLC though at long last
