Lovely course
Very nice course, well looked after, lovely picturesque environment and a pleasant feel about the place. Nice to finish the round with the nineteenth cafe serving reasonably priced food and drink.(Round played: Jul 2021 - Score: 130 Handicap: )

Improving
Surprised on my round today that so much improvement work had been done. New paths all over the place and drainage work done in areas which often flood. It's the first time I've been able to look back down a hole here and see the definition between fairway and rough. Hopefully the improvement will be ongoing as this has the layout to be a stunning track.
The downside was the price. £28 is steep for a muni when you can play chorley, Leyland, hart common etc in the area for a lower price. The holes also need to be moved more often as they were well worn around them and not one flag on the course sat straight in the hole.
Good to see it getting some TLC though at long last

Greens best I've seen them
I've played Duxbury hundreds of times & I don't think I've ever seen the course in better condition. Especially the greens, they are superb.Overall its a fantastic course, a great layout with plenty of challenges & hazards.
Standout holes are 6, 10 & 12, but there really isn't a bad hole on this course.

Poor Course Management’s
Played on a very wet course( which we knew we would get), but tee times were only 8mins apart meaning a lot of waiting between holes. This ruined the round as you couldn’t get a rhythm. Paid £22 at a weekend which in winter is a lot as other local municipals have lowered their costs!Reviewer Rating

Great Municipal
Duxbury is a superb municipal golf course. It's a good test of golf with numerous hazards, trees, water, blind shots.
You start with a drive that you have to thread between two trees & a bunker & it builds from there.
The greens are very good for the time of year & all 18 are on full greens. Parts of the course are very wet, but most courses in the UK are very wet at the moment.
All in all a great golfing experience.

Lovely Course
The setting of the course is lovely. Nice playing a course out of the city as it was so quiet and not hearing any road noise. The course itself it beautiful and challenging.

A fair price for a good challenging course
Always enjoy playing here. For a public course it is in excellent condition and always a tough track. Very well looked afterReviewer Rating
