Cannot comment on cost as we were here for the weekend on a package deal. Hotel prices for food and drink, which even with 20% discount was expensive.
Before playing the course I spoke with a local resident who advised getting a stroke saver as there are a few blind tee shots. I was also told that there were originally only 9 holes, but a further 9 were added following the purchase of a plot of land next to the course. The added holes are somewhat narrower, and mostly involve quite short par 4's.
Course was in good condition and greens were receptive and true (a little slow because we had rain for most of our round). Some tricky greens (leaning away from the tee/fairway), which would make a second round easier I think, as you know what to expect. Fairways were quite hard, and it was felt this was because run-offs had been built into the course to take water away, but with a hot summer, the water it did receive ran away before the 'higher' ground got wet enough to keep the grass green, or to keep the ground soft enough to take a divot.
The Hotel itself was quite impressive - one of our party described it as being like Hogworts. Never having seen any Harry Potter film I cannot say if he is right!

Very narrow course, with some nice holes. Course not in the greatest condition. Fairways could of done with a cut and greens played very slow

Fairways have not enough grass on and are very difficult to play from(never seen as many worm castings in my whole life. could not keep ball clean.
