Lush course
Found the course well kept with a need to make accurate shots. Many of the holes are short but with sharp doglegs and the need to lay up make it a great challenge. Be prepared to lose balls in the water! Enjoyed the course, pro shop staff warm and friendly, however the Spike Bar was understaffed with one young girl trying to serve, waitress and clear tables who wasn\'t coping. The odd menu was also excessively overpriced.Reviewer Rating

Poor bunkers
Have played her several times before but we were dissapointed with the condition of the bunkers(weeds, stones, soil) and lack of water in ball cleaners.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 109 Handicap: 27.5)

Lovely course but poor condition
I think it's probably the poor weather but the course was in poor condition waterlogged and the fairways very sticky so hit it even slightly fat and it's not going far. Better off in the light rough where there was a bit of grass.Tee boxes were well forward of the normal places - obviously trying to preserve the tees. This shortened the course a lot.
There were also the dreaded mats on a lot of tees too.
This is expected but if this is the case then the green fees should have been drastically reduced -?10 at most do this was poor value for money.
Putting surface was very good considering.
Expect the clubhouse to be dear. ?3.30 for a basic coffee. ?6.50 for a chicken baguette which was a bit stale.
Don't let this put you off though as this is a good test with thought needed in every tee. You can't bkast away with your driver every time.
Lots of water. Bunkers have very little sand but again this was the weather
In a couple of months I would hope it will be back to its best which is an interesting, pretty golf course .

Home course in Feb
After a few wet days it was ok to play, I think playing in winter makes for a stronger summer game.(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 90 Handicap: 19.2)

Scenic, challenging & immaculate
2 rounds of golf, DBB on a mini break deal - brilliant value for money and will be back. Price of food in The Bunker was expensive - lunch "special" ?11.00! ?28 for 2 lunches & 2 soft drinks was pricey.Reviewer Rating

Always a pleasure
Surprised myself with this score although the course is always challenging and the greens as ever create their own problems.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 92 Handicap: 22.1)

Great hotel golf
Hadn't played Dunston for a while and I am pleased to say it continues to provide an interesting and challenging round of golf for a high handicapper like me. The course continues to benefit from excellent maintenance and is well worth playing.Reviewer Rating

Late afternoon game with three friends
We had a tee time of 16.30 and were able to get away on time as there was no one waiting. The fairways and greens were very dry due I suspect to the lack of rainfall. We had an enjoyable round. However, due to the fact that we finished at 21.10 the club bar and changing rooms were all locked. Food and drinks could be available in the main hotel's bar, but this didn't help me as my shoes were in the changing room. Luckily for me one of the Pros was practicing on the putting green and was very helpful and got some keys and went and got them for me. I feel that we should have been told that the bar and changing rooms would be locked at 20.00 so that we could take any items out as we would not be finished our fourball until after then. Something that I feel they should look at for visiting players. No doubt members would be aware of this situation.Reviewer Rating

A members opinion
This course is very challenging for the high handicapper. The course is well looked after by the ground staff with the money that they are given by the hotel chain Q Hotel. This is definitely a course more for the weekend visitor or society player. I am a member due to location. There are better courses that I have played it in the 15 mile radius of Norwich but Dunston is up there. Summer months are far more enjoyable. Dunston has had a lot of money invested into the drainage systems this winter and the course will see a heck of an improvement over the future winter months because of this. My main issue with Dunston is the tee boxes. They require a lot of attention at times as they seem to be forgotten about.Reviewer Rating
