This is the first club that I have been a member at and have played some challenging courses previously but this takes first prize for enjoyment and value for money.
It is a long and tiring course but perserverance being the key to a good round.
Back to back long holes make this one of the most frustrating yet fun courses around to my mind in Essex.
Well worth the crack!

Not a Championship Course
Have been wanting to play here for a while but extremely disappointed with the condition of the course. Largely uninteresting with most holes being quite long but pretty straight with open fairways, lacks the ability to make you think about your shots. Condition of the course was really bad with sunken trenches across all fairways, paths are being reconstructed but at the moment just rubbish hardcore with all manner of things, saw much glass, pieces of metal and plastic and even saw an old pair of scissors. Noisy construction equipment on many of the holes and the greens were extremely bumpy and in need of a cut so very slow. Very disappointed and will not be coming back!!Reviewer Rating

Overpriced
Decent layout with some interesting holes. Very slow pace of play, our tee time was 30 minutes late to tee off and the round was close to 5 hours for a fourball. If it’s rained at all the week prior to playing don’t bother, as the course will be soaking wet. Could be a decent track if it wasn’t constantly underwater. Greens have obviously been worked on recently and weren’t up to much. Very pricey for the condition it was in.Reviewer Rating

Crondon Park
Great course that is not easy, greens are very difficult, the guy in the shop could not be more helpful, the staff in the eating area were very good. The course was in great condition and well kept, there is a good practice area and range, the club has made a superb effort with the COVID problem, they have a big marquee with great seating a bar and a pizza oven with flowers all around the area. Great visit I will be going again.Reviewer Rating

Good Couse for a competent player
The course was in good condition except for the practice areas as there was no putting green available or practice nets. Many of the holes are long especially the 18th and there is plenty of water and sand too making it a tough course for beginners.
The greens are tricky too with several being crowned and on some days the pin positions can be almost evil.

Testing course
I would like to play Crondon Park again . It was the third course our Society played on a tour and not being used to play 3 consecutive days I knew my swing had become shorter . I am not a long hitter thus knew Crondon Park would test me out but usually very straight . I did not drive my best but front nine apart from making a mess of the first and the par 3 4th did ok . Back 9 tiredness caught up with me and did not play anywhere near how I know I can . Thus would like another bash at seeing if I could get around the course to my 18 handicap . I believe I could because I keep the ball in play and that is the key at Crondon as it punishes any drive off line .Reviewer Rating

Great golf
Great days golf at Crondon Park, course has a superb layout and was in great conditoin. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Apparently they has a new green keeper which has resulted in much improved greens (my first time playing so don’t know how bad they were before). I’ve always known this course existed but it is very close to Stock Brook Manor so I have always chosen the play there. In the terms of the golf I would rate it better than Stock Brook.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 102 Handicap: )

like all courses very wet in winter but greens are in fantastic condition as are sand based.
as above the bukers and water are in the right places and will catch you out very nice layout.
they are in the process of re-doing all the bunkers and are doing them well, as they have plenty of green staff.
