Poor value for money

At it's best, I'm sure a very nice course, good challenge. However course quite tired, accepting it is late season and no doubt heavy use once lockdown eased, but needs maintenance. Unfortunately greens had been spiked and filled with sand - very unreliable ball tracking and distance. Very slow - 45mins late teeing off early Sunday afternoon after competition, and slow progress. Not good value for money.

Played on this course with two friends on Monday, 17th. November.
Although the course is a good test of golf, it was waterlogged and, in our view, should not have been open.
Most of the fairways were so wet it was impossible to find any relief from casual water.
Some parts of the course, e.g. the fairway to the right of the pond on the 18th, were like quagmires.
One of my playing partners slipped in the mud walking off one green and had to complete the round with his clothes caked in mud.
It was not a very good experience for which we were charged £35 each!
The course might be good in the summer but obviously does not have sufficient drainage for this time of year.

Testing course

I would like to play Crondon Park again . It was the third course our Society played on a tour and not being used to play 3 consecutive days I knew my swing had become shorter . I am not a long hitter thus knew Crondon Park would test me out but usually very straight . I did not drive my best but front nine apart from making a mess of the first and the par 3 4th did ok . Back 9 tiredness caught up with me and did not play anywhere near how I know I can . Thus would like another bash at seeing if I could get around the course to my 18 handicap . I believe I could because I keep the ball in play and that is the key at Crondon as it punishes any drive off line .

Nice course but unfortunately we played shortly after the greens had been tyned and sanded making putting very unpredictable.

The weather has been terrible the last few months so the course was struggling. I have played on courses in the same period that have been maintained a lot better.

I found the greens to be rather slow inconsistant and bumpy,
the bunker sand is very corse and stoney. Some very nice short holes which are quite testing in windy conditions. Generally a very nice country course. Reception staff very pleasant and helpfull.

Good Couse for a competent player

The course was in good condition except for the practice areas as there was no putting green available or practice nets.
Many of the holes are long especially the 18th and there is plenty of water and sand too making it a tough course for beginners.
The greens are tricky too with several being crowned and on some days the pin positions can be almost evil.

Taxing

Keep playing this wonderful course in the hope it will improve my game, alas, all I get is more frustration. Drive straight, manage your round and putt well you will attain a good score, however, if like me you only achieve 1 or 2 out of the 3 you will be frustrated. Excellent condition for the time of year and 4th was a real challenge in the wind

Worth a round

This can be a challenging course with some long holes suited to the long driver. The wind can play a big part as it is open and high in places where it can be gusty. It will benefit from straight line drive as it can be very unforgiving if a bit wayward, there are four holes where playing across water will cause you to decide to 'go for it' or play safe. All in all a very good course, lovely setting and good clubhouse, would definately recommend.

Difficult

The key to this course is to make sure you drive straight and hit the fairways, very unforgiving if wayward off the tee, 4th and 14th are tricky par 3's due to the water hazard but all in all a nice course
