Not a Championship Course
Have been wanting to play here for a while but extremely disappointed with the condition of the course. Largely uninteresting with most holes being quite long but pretty straight with open fairways, lacks the ability to make you think about your shots. Condition of the course was really bad with sunken trenches across all fairways, paths are being reconstructed but at the moment just rubbish hardcore with all manner of things, saw much glass, pieces of metal and plastic and even saw an old pair of scissors. Noisy construction equipment on many of the holes and the greens were extremely bumpy and in need of a cut so very slow. Very disappointed and will not be coming back!!Reviewer Rating

Overpriced
Decent layout with some interesting holes. Very slow pace of play, our tee time was 30 minutes late to tee off and the round was close to 5 hours for a fourball. If it’s rained at all the week prior to playing don’t bother, as the course will be soaking wet. Could be a decent track if it wasn’t constantly underwater. Greens have obviously been worked on recently and weren’t up to much. Very pricey for the condition it was in.Reviewer Rating

Poor value for money
At it's best, I'm sure a very nice course, good challenge. However course quite tired, accepting it is late season and no doubt heavy use once lockdown eased, but needs maintenance. Unfortunately greens had been spiked and filled with sand - very unreliable ball tracking and distance. Very slow - 45mins late teeing off early Sunday afternoon after competition, and slow progress. Not good value for money.(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 108 Handicap: 22.9)

Although the course is a good test of golf, it was waterlogged and, in our view, should not have been open.
Most of the fairways were so wet it was impossible to find any relief from casual water.
Some parts of the course, e.g. the fairway to the right of the pond on the 18th, were like quagmires.
One of my playing partners slipped in the mud walking off one green and had to complete the round with his clothes caked in mud.
It was not a very good experience for which we were charged £35 each!
The course might be good in the summer but obviously does not have sufficient drainage for this time of year.

Testing course
I would like to play Crondon Park again . It was the third course our Society played on a tour and not being used to play 3 consecutive days I knew my swing had become shorter . I am not a long hitter thus knew Crondon Park would test me out but usually very straight . I did not drive my best but front nine apart from making a mess of the first and the par 3 4th did ok . Back 9 tiredness caught up with me and did not play anywhere near how I know I can . Thus would like another bash at seeing if I could get around the course to my 18 handicap . I believe I could because I keep the ball in play and that is the key at Crondon as it punishes any drive off line .Reviewer Rating
