Very nice courseNicely laid out members owned course. All in decent condition with just a few areas of wear. Plenty of water, ditches and dog legs to negotiate makes it a thinking mans course. The fairways Are pretty generous but are usually flanked by trees. The bunkers are well placed to catch you out and several of the greens are small which makes the aim important. Clubhouse is nothing special from the front but is pleasant inside and the catering was excellent.
Worth a visitI have not played the Bentley for 30 years until our society due to Covid had to postpone our 40th anniversary tour due to have been at Carnoustie . We did an Essex tour with our own homes as the base and played The Bentley twice . It is tough to play to your handicap at The Bentley but the challenge is food . The food after was very good both days . Club was friendly .

A good course in EssexWith the lockdown still in progress I'm not able to comment on the course facilities. The course was in good condition and looks well maintained. The greens had patches of brown which I thought would have been worked on during the lockdown. The perhaps damage from the adverse winter condition buts other course I have visited have really worked on their greens. This was a bit of a downer.
Needs attention and policing
Great spotAttractive course with plenty of challenges, in great condition. Subtle green slopes to catch you out. Some greens a bit spongey after heavy downpour but greens and tee boxes both well looked after. Will no doubt have benefited from rains after a number of hot weeks. New clubhouse, apparently good food. Twilight price good.
