What the club says: Founded in 1916, Crews Hill Golf Club is situated in the northern tip of Greater London surrounded by rolling countryside, garden nurseries and farmland and often referred to as “The Jewel of the North!” (north London that is) Crews Hill is considered the finest test of golf in Middlesex County.

Coming out of winter, fairways rolling well, greens still a little sandy & aerated & therefore slow. A member complained about the lack of rain but course played well enough all things considered.

Nice course layout especially the back 9 where you have to think a bit more about drive positioning due to streams and doglegs. Green was very soft due to the weather conditions which made putting challenging but fairways were totally playable.

Very friendly club
Everyone we met was welcoming, and the pro-shop assistant was very helpful. The course is a good mix of tough holes and birdie opportunities, so build your score where you can! Despite the terribly wet winter we have had, the greens were in great condition.Reviewer Rating

Scratch player review
Pro'sBack 9 is a very good collection of holes. Got dog legs in both directions and a real example of how par 3's do not need to be long to be challenging. In terms of layout, the back 9 really is very good.
Con's
The condition of the course is generally quite poor. Clay based and can flood quite easily in areas. In my opinion the greens are poor quality which is a shame given the quality of the design of them with good variation of slopes.
The front 9 they are all straight holes with no dog legs. Quite flat too.

Course played well despite some sodden areas & wet greens & aprons.
Several temporary tees too. Food service was excellent but some 4 balls not letting 2 balls through was frustrating.

Decent track, some really varied holes which if you played it more and more I would say would be enjoyable. Greens were good but thought they could be quicker. Bunkers could have been raked for a high quality course. Some people wont like undulating fairways but I thought it added a challenge

Good course
This is a little gem of a course. Greens were very good, albeit fast so be aware. Tee boxes and fairways were very good. The layout is a well designed classic mature parkland. And the members are so courtesy which meant for a quick round. Definitely be back and would recommend to any would who wants a good priced round on a lovely course.Reviewer Rating

On arrival we were able to get out early due to a freindly member of the pro shop who give us information about the course and layout.
Course in good condition and greens were well looked after, over a good start.
Club and facilities of a very good standard and staff friendly and helpful.
Will be attending again very soon .

First time round here. Excellent course. Number of sloping fairways which in current dry conditions makes it tricky to hold some of them. Greens were good and rolled well though maybe a touch slower than the putting green. Interesting layout. Friendly in club house and excellent food both before and after round. Will head back in due course.

Great venue
Played this course yesterday and found the experience to be fantastic, from the welcome to the finish we were well looked after. The course was the best I've played in a while, can't fault the course presentation at all, the greens were excellent making putting true. It was a blisteringly hot day and even the sprinklers came on on 18th tee providing a refreshing drizzle! Crews Hill
Have wanted to play at Crews Hill for a few years now, but have never managed to get here. Friendly people in the proshop in the restaurant and bar with a good selection of food and drinks on offer. The course was a bit boggy in a lot of areas, but expected after the recent weather. I'm not sure what I make of Crews Hill, it's a bit of mixed bag. Some good holes, but also some that are very 'samey' Plenty of slopes on the fairways and greens which made shit selection a challenge and putting even more so. Solid course, easily reachable with super facilities
Two ball visitor round played Sunday 13:00, friendly welcome (credit to the young man in the pro shop coping under the pressure) good nets and practice facilities to warm up. Member three ball let us through on the first. Good pace of play all round. Greens, fairways and tee boxes all in very good condition.Front 9 solid if unspectacular until 7-9 holes, back 9 a real treat and a well laid out course posing a fair challenge. Super value for money also. Very easily reachable from Crews Hill Station, 40 minutes from central London.

Played in a society today 23 September. The course was in very good condition and surprisingly lush considering the recent dry spell. Bunkers good and greens very fast. Had a meal to follow which was excellent. Would definitely recommend this course.

Worth a look
A good blend of holes. Trees on every hole but reasonably wide fairways. Course is in good nick considering the heavy rain we had the previous day.(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 95 Handicap: 24.1)

Course is in lovely condition for time of year a bit lish if maybe a bit too much grass on fairways and greens. overall a very enjoyable course to play and tests your game you need to be straight off the tee as many many trees!!
