Course could be very good, layout is very good but being council owned it is in poor condition. So much so you could not play a ball out of ANY bunker!

Not worth it
Been to this course many a time but this was the worst that I had seen it. The previous owner had left and the Council had taken it over. There was nothing worth getting in the shop. We were told to arrive for 07.30 but it wasn't ready until nearer 08.30. There was only 2 members of staff on call to serve 50 of us. No sign of any greenstaff either so there was loads of dew on the greens as well as leaves and pine needles. The bunkers were awful. More weeds and grass than sand, if you could call it sand.The greens also looked like they has a disease. I will not be going back there for a while until things improve.(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 102 Handicap: 24.5)

Deserted !
Visited for only the second time this year.Course deserted.
Shop empty, no stock apart from a few drinks and lake balls.
Plus signs that course may be slightly on the decline.
Won't be rushing back I'm afraid.
Shame as priors is an excellent public course, or was !

Played on the 26/6/17 been raining all weekend so new the course would be wet but was not to bad. Greens ok, Fairways cut but had been left to grow to much so lots of cut grass on the course. If you went of the fairways you would not find your ball as the grass was well over a foot high. Did not find one ball ?

Very disappointed with the course today after reading recent reviews. Fairways were long with little or no run on the ball. The greens were a mixed bag, better on the back nine, but littered with pitchmarks - cant blame anyone but selfish players for that. The bunkers really need a decent sort of sand in them. the current sand is very gritty and full of stones, rock hard in some places and super soft in others. However, on a positive note, it really is a good layout. A nice variety of testing holes and very easy on the eye. The bunkers are well placed and thought out. In all fairness to them, it does always seem to be busy, and it cant be easy to keep it perfect all of the time. If I won the euromillions I would buy this course, it has tons of potential.

Nice course however not looked after. Open in winter when should be closed due to bad weather. Very boggy after heavy rain and suffers from poor drainage.

Good value
Catering of pretty high standard. The course was in good condition, a few bumpy greens.Good layout, could be a little more challenging.

Nice early season round
My first round of 2022. Course was set up as easy, forward tees and flags in centre of good greens. Fairways looked like they had been very wet for a while and needed some sunshine to get to their best. I will come back later in season.Reviewer Rating
