What the club says: Corby Golf Course was opened in 1967 by Tony Jacklin. It was designed by Fred Hawtree, one of Britain's finest golf course architects. Corby Golf Course is open to all as a pay-and-play course or our season tickets offer exceptional value.

The 18 Hole Course is 6,677 yards long off the back tee, with a par of 72. The fairways are wide, with generous light-rough margins. But there are also water hazards, mature trees, areas of thick rough and 58 sand bunkers - all ingeniously sited and shaped within Hawtree's challenging design.

On the up

After recent improvements the bunkers , fairways and general parts of Priors has been cared for. In the past it was tired even though it?s never lost it?s appeal. This is a great place to play eat etc, great walk with nice mature wooded areas with plenty of wild life.

What a surprise

I had never played this course before but have driven past it on many occasion on visiting family in Corby....I git a great bargain at ?10 on tee off times and as it was a gorgeous I thought I would give it a go......This is the best course I have played in ages!.....the layout is fantastic, the state of the greens immaculate....the hospitality exceptionally good with the lady on reception in the shop ever so polite and welcoming....for playing in the winter I was extremely chuffed with how well course played and was maintained....I cannot wait to return and play again and am really looking forward to playing it in the spring/summer!....only a couple of gripes that I know won?t be in place in the warmer months: The grass on the fairways was a bit long meaning you couldn?t tell tell where the fairway ended and the 1st cut of rough began, quite a few temporary tee boxes in use which I don?t think was needed and those that were in play could have done with a spruce up or better TLC for such a good course....even though I thinks it?s awesome to see so many bunkers around the course really testing your golf round it would be better to see proper sand in then as it is near impossible to get out of them due to the poor quality of whatever is in them!......Please don?t let these few things put you off playing here as it really is a lovely parkland course!

Good Course

Very good course. Greens where very good. But they need more grounds men to look after the course. all the grass needs cutting back. Bunkers mud. But this is a council run course and is under funded. If it was looked after better would be best course about.

Sunny Priors bash

Returning to a excellent viewing and playable course.
The greens are in great condition and club shop , bar and food areas have been updated. Over the years it had needed a good bit of work to bring it back to life and it?s on track and it has been updated.

Priors Hall - Nice Course

Course in great condition considering the weather in the run up to us playing.
Lots of change happened since last time I played here and clearly investing to improve the clubhouse and the course itself.

Course could be very good, layout is very good but being council owned it is in poor condition. So much so you could not play a ball out of ANY bunker!

Not worth it

Been to this course many a time but this was the worst that I had seen it. The previous owner had left and the Council had taken it over. There was nothing worth getting in the shop. We were told to arrive for 07.30 but it wasn't ready until nearer 08.30. There was only 2 members of staff on call to serve 50 of us. No sign of any greenstaff either so there was loads of dew on the greens as well as leaves and pine needles. The bunkers were awful. More weeds and grass than sand, if you could call it sand. The greens also looked like they has a disease. I will not be going back there for a while until things improve.

A pay and play venue worth a visit

A public course set up well worth a visit. Clubhouse and shop could do with updating but staff were very welcoming. The course is of an excellent standard for the type of venue it is. Some challenging holes especially the par 3's. Great value for money.

Deserted !

Visited for only the second time this year.
Course deserted.
Shop empty, no stock apart from a few drinks and lake balls.
Plus signs that course may be slightly on the decline.
Won't be rushing back I'm afraid.
Shame as priors is an excellent public course, or was !

Hadn't played here for a few years so it was good to see how I did. The round wasn't helped by the strong wind which on some holes was really difficult to play against. The course was in pretty good condition although the bunkers were very poor. Not much chance getting under the ball due to the hardness of the sand.
