What the club says: Classic Luffenham conditions will be firm fairways and greens. A premium in hitting the fairway allows the golfer to fly into the green. From the rough its very difficult to hold the green and in some circumstances fool hardy to try.

Most Helpful Review

Great test of golf, undulating fairways, excellent greens and some really \'pretty\' holes (par 5 - 18th great looking hole) also some memorable signature holes par 4 7th and the par 3 17th\Highly recommended for a challenging days golf! - Jun 19 2013

Excellent golf course as evidenced by the fact it's an Open qualifying venue. The course is tricky and especially so in the summer when the rough grows and any wayward golf shots are punished. I will definitely recommend playing this course. We had a small issue playing this last year but the customer service we got was exceptional and, again, I can only say I was impressed

An excellent course, probably the best one in the area around Peterborough. You are punished if you drift off the fairway as the rough has been allowed to grow. The best feature of the course is that none of the holes are on top of each other so you feel like you're the only one on the course at times. Great course, would recommend playing. The clubhouse could do with a revamp if I was to be picky

Played here for the first time since 2005 and the changes carried out by Dr Hawtree ( more bunkers and lengthening of 8 and 10) have improved an already fine course into a really excellent members course. Holes 2-4, 7 and especially the great finish 15-18 are top class and in my opinion this course is behind only Hollinwell and of course, Woodhall Spa ( Hodgkins) in the Midlands. It is not that long although the wind made some holes very tough wgen we played.
It is a bit stuffy and its tiny membership are very " public school" but not unapproachable. Food was very good but the licker room looks like something out of a 1930s boarding school.
Very impressive.

Absolutely top condition on a very nice day for a round. Bunkers a bit variable in terms of condition and consistency of sand, but greens nicely prepared.

Everything about Luffenham is very good, this is a well established heathland course, although in no way is it open and exposed. Each hole has a character of it's own and although we have played it several times, there always seems to be something new.
The clubhouse is very traditional (as is the club in general) so if you like things in 'the old style' then Luffenham is for you.
