This is a parkland course, with trees (and grass mounds) producing some nicely shaped holes. There are some good par fives which will make you think. A couple of longer par fours would be useful. The 12th is the best hole and it is a pity that this isn't the last, it would make a spectacular finish. The course is fairly dry, the greens were consistent and had a reasonable speed. There is some deep rough, but this is wide and you shouldn't be there. Good price, big car park and friendly staff.

Lovely parkland course, a pleasure to play. Each hole totally different, and a good test for high or low handicapper. Food in clubhouse always top class and very competitively priced. A real gem.

Had an excellent round of golf today. The course is tranquil and scenic. Greens are well maintained and a pleasure to putt on. For me the course is challenging and a joy to play. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the homemade soup and cake is to die for.

It's a really nice place to play so long as you don't go expecting a big, flash pro shop and clubhouse - it's more a 'homely' kind of club. The course is interesting enough and offers lots of chances to get your driver out. Generally in really good condition but bunkers short of sand - not so much of a problem once you've understood that standard bunker technique doesn't apply. Got stuck behind a desperately slow 4-ball but can't blame the club for that. Putting green could be nice but desperately needs some tlc.

Great course. Only a couple of minor faults.
1. They do not sell a course guide
2. A lot of bunkers on the course are GUR why ??
Will be back had a great day

Good course. Went round in 92. Handicap 21. Enough challenging holes to make it very interesting. Fairways and bunkers in good condition. Very enjoyable round. Would definitely play there again.

Excellent value for money. Lovely course to play but fairways need a good cut as can't differentiate between them and first cut of rough. Need to stay out of bunkers as hard to get out of and can be very tricky if you don't stay straight with your shots. Greens very good and good pace. Overall an enjoyable course to play for any standard of player. Can't wait for my next round!!!

Enjoyable course, good for all standards of golf. Fairways in desperate need of cutting, no difference between fairways and first cut. Greens excellent. Cut the fairways, excellent course.

This course is for all levels from learner to low handicap players. The course is developing as the trees and bushes grow and will test your course management and ability with a wide range of your clubs. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend that you have a round here if you can.

Good condition

Played as a 3-ball on Saturday 13th Jan; considering the weather we had in the preceding two weeks, the course was in good condition (trollies were permitted).
The majority of the holes had firm fairways and the greens were in excellent conditions. There was standing water in a couple of places, but never on the actual fairway; I think the worst conditions we came across were on #10, but that is usual. Great to see most of the bunkers maintained with fresh, soft sand.
We choose to play Colmworth because of the good conditions all year round and the welcome is always very friendly. Green fees are reasonable for the area and booking is easy.

Worth a visit but don't expect too much

Played in a small (13 players) Society day, with bacon roll and tea/coffee before 18 holes. Not sure of the price, but we were all given 2 for 1 vouchers to encourage us to come back. It’s only a couple of miles from our home club so would need to be very cheap to drive that short distance and pay, rather than play at home course without needing to pay.

Having not played here since 2011, I didn’t recognise much of the course, which now looks quite picturesque. I am however aware that under the elevated tees and other mounds; lie heaps of ‘rubbish’, from car write-offs to broken fridges. These were actually in evidence when I first played here in a County event! Having said all that, I was very impressed with how the course looks and plays now. Some very interesting holes, but after some quite dry weather, the greens were not at all receptive, with most shots running further than allowed for. Some bunkers had newer lighter (grey) coloured sand and seemed OK, but the ones with sand coloured stuff in them were pretty awful, and we did hear that the members treat them all as GUR.

The clubhouse seems to be having work done to it, and the roadway in and car park looks like it could do with some work being done. There were some nice areas to sit after the round, both inside and outside. Didn’t see a pro-shop, so very little in the way of merchandise which seemed to be available in the bar area. Staff we met were very friendly.

Will probably try to come back without leaving it for another 12 years!
