Greens weren’t overly well kept but fairways and roughs nice

I always enjoy playing hereExcellent club house / restaurant and hotel, the course is nice but some of the greens were not in great condition not what I expected for the money we paid, £5 less would have been a better price for the course condition on the day.
Over all I do like playing here usualy once a year as I live in Essex and next time hoplefully the greens will be in better shape.

nice coursemy second round today spoiled by slow play we was a 4 ball pushing up a 3 with a 2 in front and we did see golfers walking on the 11th complaining it will be dark before we get done we was over 4 hours

Plenty of water but not enough on the greensLovely setting with plenty of water hazards. The fairways were in great condition, as was the rough and most of the bunkers. Sadly though the greens and tees had suffered during the period that courses were closed, and clearly not enough watering was applied to accommodate the dry weather we have had, lending to bare patches. A challenging course nonetheless and one I would recommend when it has recovered.
Reasonable CourseMany water hazards to navigate around. Greens a little patch and quite slow too.

Bad greensThe greens were not in good shape. This was disappointing as it was my first game back following lockdown. I feel they should have been looked after during lockdown as many other courses in the area!! The rest of the course was in quite good condition.
Arun PatelCourse was in good condition tough little course with some challenging holes
Value for moneyAfter not playing for what seems an eternity I have played here twice this week, good value at ?20, greens require a bit of work and were on the slow side but otherwise a very nice course, will play there again
Excellent for FebruaryIt's in great condition for February. All 18 full greens & only one temporary tee, fantastic.
Duxbury is a great test of golf. The first drive with a collection of trees & a bunker in the landing zone test you from the start & the course doesn't disappoint after that. Trees, water, walls, up hill & down hill holes all keep you on your toes.
Duxbury has always been regarded as one of the best municipal golf courses in the area & it still is.

Wyboston lakesVery nice course. Lots of water to scare and force a straight drive. Will challenge all golfers. Will definitely be playing again.

the only other thing was the club house could be a bit more golfer friendly.

Great CourseThis is my local course so get to play it very regularly, course is always in very good condition, I tend to play mid week when it is a bit quieter but it can get very busy at the weekends!
I play this course at least once a week, certain holes present more of a challenge than others but it is always an interesting round.
The pay and play price is very reasonable for the area. I would always recommend playing mid week when possible.
Staff in pro shop are very friendly and knowledgeable, restaurant and bar staff also very pleasent.
good course very challengingGood course unfortunately very soft due to rain the previous day. Glad that 15th hole now a par 5 as there aren't many Par 5's on course

Not pleasant experience.
Lots of waterA good course if you want to test your placement off the tee. Make sure you bring lots of balls as there is lots of water (as per the course name) and thick shrubbery. Greens very good.!!

Lovely looking courseMy friend and I have played at Wyboston Lakes a number of times over the years and did so again in July 2019. As the name implies it is a course that is surrounded by water and this makes for an interesting and picturesque round. It is isn't too challenging but you have to keep your wits about you with all that water around!
The staff in the Pro Shop are very helpful and friendly. The only problem we have with Wyboston Lakes is the food. The menu is not your usual golf club sandwiches/baguettes fare and is very expensive. We have taken to bringing our own sandwiches and eating them in the car - not the best way to finish off what was otherwise a very enjoyable round.
We will be back but we'll continue bringing our own food.
