Interesting course
I was pleasantly surprised with the course. Not long but a good challenge. The rough was punishing which was a shame since I was in it a lot! There is plenty of room around the holes and you don't see other golfers too often. As a hotel course it is quite busy and golfers tend not to be as good at repairing pitch marks as they would on their own course! We played for three consecutive days and the tees were only moved on the last day - sadly the grounds men seemed to be following us so the tee maxes were quite lush when we played which wasn't great on the par 3s. Overall enjoyed the course.Reviewer Rating

Short but interesting Course
Didn't know this course existed but a friend stayed and played and recommended it so thought I'd try it.The course is quite short but the holes were interesting, with some sharp dog legs. There is water on quite a few holes so you need to be reasonably straight. Condition was generally good. Greens were slow but true. Some of the fairways had some sort of weed/plant growing on them. Tees were a bit hit and miss, some very good, others a bit uneven.
All in all enjoyed the round and will certainly go back for the price of ?22, a good bit cheaper than other courses close by.

"Nice Course, Greens Need Work"
I have no doubt that the clubhouse and facilities are good, although due to covid restrictions we were not able to use them. The course is a very open one which winds around the main lake, with plenty of water on most holes, which can be treacherous for those that are wayward off the tee with the driver. The course is all about playing for position and can be navigated well with long irons, wedges & putter. Unfortunately on the day we played (16/04/2021) the greens were atrocious, gave up trying to read them as the ball would hop, skip & jump all the way to the hole but as they say you get what you pay for and at ?22 a round you can see why it's so cheap to play there, a bit of investment in the greens would go a long way as apart from this it's a nice little course.Reviewer Rating

Good course
An enjoyable course, with lots of water features. Green were okay although generally needed a cut and roll.Reviewer Rating

Excellent
This is an excellent course, superbly laid out with a good mixture of trees & water. There are some challenges, but it is also quite open in places, so would appeal to all levels of golfer. The best part of the course is the greens, they are absolutely superb.
The hotel is also good, the rooms in particular are very nice.
All in all a great experience, I'll definitely be back.

Front 9 extremely short, some much better holes back nine. Stroke 1 is a great hole. Biggest weakness is too many very short par 3's, to enormous greens. I'd rate this higher if the front nine was even 250 yards longer.
Deserves its ranking, pace of play 3.45 in the morning so couldn't grumble. Great value.

(Round played: Mar 2015 - Score: 87 Handicap: 16.7) nice course with some challenging holes, plenty of water hazards and open fairs to drive hard if you can avoids the drink.

More needs to be done to allow people to play through and stop groups of 4 old ladies playing together in the height of the days play.
Good condition of course at the moment though.

I thought the course, although on the short side, was in near perfect condition (maybe teeing grounds could do with a mow). The holes were varied and interesting, forcing you to make a few difficult decisions.
Greens were fast and true and, in the main, receptive.
The lakes were mainly there for asthetic quality as didnt really come into play that often, but other water obstructions took their place
Overall a good social course as it was not too easy to become boring, but not too difficult to become a chore.
I'd definitely play Wyboston again.
