Raised tees seem to be on every hole out of a necessity for dumping rubble rather than improving the hole itself.

Worth a visit but don't expect too much
Played in a small (13 players) Society day, with bacon roll and tea/coffee before 18 holes. Not sure of the price, but we were all given 2 for 1 vouchers to encourage us to come back. It’s only a couple of miles from our home club so would need to be very cheap to drive that short distance and pay, rather than play at home course without needing to pay.Having not played here since 2011, I didn’t recognise much of the course, which now looks quite picturesque. I am however aware that under the elevated tees and other mounds; lie heaps of ‘rubbish’, from car write-offs to broken fridges. These were actually in evidence when I first played here in a County event! Having said all that, I was very impressed with how the course looks and plays now. Some very interesting holes, but after some quite dry weather, the greens were not at all receptive, with most shots running further than allowed for. Some bunkers had newer lighter (grey) coloured sand and seemed OK, but the ones with sand coloured stuff in them were pretty awful, and we did hear that the members treat them all as GUR.
The clubhouse seems to be having work done to it, and the roadway in and car park looks like it could do with some work being done. There were some nice areas to sit after the round, both inside and outside. Didn’t see a pro-shop, so very little in the way of merchandise which seemed to be available in the bar area. Staff we met were very friendly.
Will probably try to come back without leaving it for another 12 years!

Crisp, dry but good value
The course like most is suffering from the hot weather, Tee boxes bare , uncut and in need of attention. Fairways dry but with good covering. Bunkers poor and unattended except holes 5 and 6. Greens also need a lot of work. Having said all that the course is picturesque, challenging and an absolute steal for value for many. The four of us agreed to definitely come back.Reviewer Rating

Good value for money
Course drains very well so it’s a nice venue for a winter round. The greens are never going to amaze you but they always keep them in reasonable shape on a slim budget. The fairways are slow growing which requires minimal maintenance and the rough is always kept at a good length. The tees are in need of serious attention. They never seem to be cut to a reasonable height of cut, and for me all playing surfaces should be manicured for the busy weekend golf, yet that’s never the case. They have been working on the bunkers and they are good additions, but the rest of the bunkers remain in a state that requires attention. Considering what you pay for a membership though the place is a gem!Reviewer Rating

Ok greens terrible tees overall fair challenge
Tee boxes were awful, greens were good, fairways good. Interesting challenge, first 3/4 holes bit up and down with many players crossing 1 or even 2 fairways, rest of course interesting and some really good holes.Driving range is good for warm up and good putting green.
Club house, 3 girls serving, super slow, think must have been non regulars as didn't seem to know what's as going on.

good condition especially after the rain we've had

Interested design
Good course layout, reasonably well maintained. Greens were slow, a few blind drives over trees. Friendly staff.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 97 Handicap: )

Very open countryside.
Quite interesting course in reasonable condition. The tees and bunkers need attention. New tree planting will make it more challenging in future. The clubhouse is welcoming and the staff very pleasant.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 17.5)

Fun course
Lots of fun holes and a reasonably varied set. Fairly good condition and the greens are nice. Some of the edges of bunkers need re-turfing but other than that pretty good.(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 94 Handicap: 17.7)

Reasonable Course
Excellent greens, but course spoilt by poor condition of the bunkers i.e. rock hard and very little sand.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 110 Handicap: 23.8)

Reasonable Course
Fairly open course but need to keep straight as parts are tree lined &/or have water hazards. Course would benefit from better quality & more sand in the bunkers.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 98 Handicap: 22.2)
