Nice course although some of the fairways were a little dry. The greens were excellent and so were the tee boxes, a really friendly club. The only downside to the club is they are cash only (NO BANK CARDS) which is hard to take in, for such a nice club.

The members of this club are very inviting. The pro shop has the essentials. The course is in great condition. Some holes are very forgiving, while others are very tight. Good variety of holes.
I was very disappointed by the fact that you had too pay with cash to play. We were not told this when we booked. I would of thought that now days every club would have a card machine. We were also told that it is cash only in the bar, so we went across the road to a pub called the Bee-keeper.
The price of £25.50 is fair as this includes insurance, so mishaps are covered.
Will play again, but will have to ensure cash in my wallet.

Golfshake Team ReviewConsidering the recent weather the course was in pretty good condition. All temporary tees and fairway mats (when I hit one) when we played here, helped by warming winter sunshine. Excellent value at £15 with a member. Doesn't seem long but some of the par 4's looked more like par 5's especially with little run on the fairways. Nicely laid out course needing accuracy with decent size greens. Definately an old school golf club, but the members were very friendly.

lovely course

lovely course in really good condition. Not as easy as it appears at first look. This is a course that has to be thought through and played tactically. With COVID 19 restrictions, the clubhouse and the halfway hut were not open.

My home course.

Pleasantly flat parkland course suitable for those with age-related medical conditions. Not the pushover it looks; well-positioned doglegs require accurate tee shots in order to score well. the greens are relatively fast for the UK and the "borrows" are not that easy to read. The recent weather has not been kind to the back 9 and these have been left unplayable (unmaintainable due to excess surface water and sodden ground). The keepers have done a sterling job maintaining playable fairways and green. All shots are taken from mats on the fairways and out of the rough.
Pity that the relatively new to the Club caterer doesn't open up until 10 am, can't get a decent breakfast in the clubhouse before teeing off for an early round.

Pleasant walk in the park

A lovely almost flat parkland course which is bisected by a pretty quiet public road. The halfway hut is a great rest stop for a "wad and a brew" (sandwich and tea to you) this is located between the 10th green & 11th tee. A public footpath crosses the 13th and 17th fairways so care needs to be exercised to avoid hitting pedestrians and cyclists. The greens are in very good condition and the fairways are a sufficient challenge for the better player without intimidating the high handicapers. Great place to play golf.

Willowbrook

Good decent course... could do with some work on the fairways.. dry and patchy most of the fairways... green fast and good... great friendly staff... would recommend some signs where you'd need to cross holes and find hidden holes .

Lovely Course, some thinking mans holes.

Played this for the very first time and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. Quiet a few holes you have to think about what you are hitting off the tee as several holes have that funny distance off the tee for your second shot. Overall worth a trip if you are not too far away.

Despite the drizzle Chilwell was in super condition from tee to green. Undulating but true greens give a very fair test for golfers of all levels. Friendly members making this a good place to play and I thoroughly recommend.

Three of us travelled to Chilwell on Sunday, a course I have often drove past and wondered what it was like. The members we met were all very friendly and the pro extremely welcoming ! A little nervous we all hit three irons to make sure and was relieved when all were semi - straight !!. The greens we thought would be slow after previous two days rain. Not at all. A pleasant parkland course .
