Sunny day near the sea

Course in good condition with firm going on the fairways. The greens were acceptable and quite simple with no tricky mounds and slopes

Getting better grass being cut now and greens in good condition, bunkers more grass than sand so have to take a drop.
Hoping the grass cutting continues as last month was nearly unplayable, bar should open earlier than 11 am for Bacon rolls etc.

Links type course in Thames Estuary

Flat links course located in the Thames Estuary. Provides a good test as wayward shots are punished by severe rough.

Along the sea wall

This flat course runs along the shadow of the sea wall where you cannot see the sea - only the tops of the yacht masts

Challenging

Enjoyable and challenging. The back 9 is quite narrow and has some very challenging holes that require some strategic play. The greens are usually quite hard and fast, and being situated right on the mouth of the North Sea the wind always has to be taken into account. A good challenge for most golfers.

not expecting much as a public course and wasn't disappointed. Tee boxes and fairways were good, but the rough was very rough and didn't look managed in any way. The greens were very bare and also very bobbly which didn't give confidence in putting.

Better than expected

On Nov 4th blue skies and no wind the course was not muddy and the greens were in excellent condition but slow. The back nine were more difficult than the first nine. Hole 13 needs a long drive to clear a large pond which was quite challenging for me.

Nice links feel

Really fun links course, enjoyed playing here fro the first time. Has a great links feel with some interesting holes that challenge your length and your accuracy. You get rewarded for being bold and going for the greens off the tee on a few driveable par 4s and you can really get a good score.
