Extremely good value round .Not a tough test ( thankfully) the difficulty lies in positioning the ball off the tee on the narrower holes.Excellent facilities at hand - will definitely return

Nice enough track, but greens v poor

Played here today and was initially pleasantly surprised. However the practice green was a portent of gloom! Fairway and rough grass was lush and divots were easy to make and repair. The greens were a lottery, not cut in two days, lots of mounding around the long in place pin positions. The rhyming slang “pony” is what they are!
The layout was testing and really quite nice needing good course management but, and sorry for hammering the point, the greens nullified all the hard work.
Bunker condition was generally poor but playable. If the greens were better the course would get my unreserved recommendation and I would go again, but in its current state; sorry no chance. Travelled 90 miles and paid £30, feel as if I have been “sold a pup”!

Our 4 ball played here in June on really hot days. The tee boxes and fairways were good but the greens were desperately in need of water as most had a lot of cracks as if they had been relaid recently but the swards had not knitted together. We found the course a bit boring as it is very flat and mostly just up and down with a line of trees separating fairways. Having said that, it is worth a visit.

Nice Round

Played here but didn’t realised they have done work to the greens until we arrived and was informed by the pro shop. Driving range was superb will ball tracker etc and crazy golf attached outside which looks like it would be good for a family on a warm sunny day. Anyway moving back to the golf course. You have to be very straight off the tee on most holes otherwise you could be in trouble as the rough is very punishing I wouldn’t say it was long it’s just very thick and there’s lots of trees to negotiate with. Bunkers could be better some have a good amount of sand in and others are like concrete thankfully I didn’t find too many of them ???? like I said at the start the Greenkeepers have done work to the greens so they was quite slow and a bit bumpy but not to the extent where it affects your putting that much. I appreciate the fact that it’s the time of the year where this work happens as my home club have done the same so can’t really complain. Food was excellent in the clubhouse too, will definitely return next year but probably in the summer time to see what it’s like then.

Challenging Course, needs some improvements

Course was challenging with the fairways along with the 1st and 2nd cuts of rough in very good condition.

Bunkers were inconsistent in their levels of sand (some were fine, others had hardly any sand, some were like playing out of concrete etc) so they need some work.

Greens were also inconsistent, some were fast, some were slow.

Overall, i enjoyed the course and would play here again but it wasnt without its faults

Good Value Golf Break Venue

Enjoyed a great weekend in a group of 6.
Rooms are basic but clean/tidy & all you need. Friendly/helpful staff & very accommodating.
Course in very good condition but greens, whilst very smooth & true, were like concrete! Bunkers could use more sand too!
Overall a very good weekend & enjoyed every moment. Thank you!!

A nice course

A nice course & in excellent condition.
A few reviews on here mention poor greens, but I disagree, they were pretty good. also the bunkers had more sand in than some so called good golf courses that I've played.
The course gets a bit 'samey' in places, but at less than 100 quid for DBB & golf you can't really complain.
It's lack of length is made up for by most holes being quite tight & tree lined.
The hotel is nice, with excellent cabins. The food was average, but OK.
