Disappointed
Last played this course 2 years ago and was very impressed. I returned with a friend over the bank holiday weekend and was disappointed especially after bigging it up to my friend who doesn't think highly of the place. The greens are like concrete, very patchy and bumpy as your putting. I have played the likes of Druids Heath, Walsall, Great Barr, Bloxwich and Sutton Coldfield recently and the greens have all been in excellent condition. Another problem was the course marshall who we found extremely rude telling us rather abruptly we are 6 minutes behind where we should be, not our fault that the people in front of us wouldn't play us through! And to be honest for the standard of the course you don't really need a marshall with a notepad having the times of what hole you should be on that's a bit extreme to be quite frank and a bit embarrassing. Definitely not worth the £32.50 green fee. I would avoid and play elsewhere unless it improves. On the plus side pro shop staff and clubhouse staff very friendly and reasonably priced beer and food.Reviewer Rating

Flat, long, challenging. Good prices
Always found Calderfields too tough for me. Find it too long and, frankly, a bit boring. Not knocking it for others, but doesn't suit me. They were doing some great prices on course (and buggies) so couldn't resist having another go, especially now it's dried up. Lovely golf shop, friendly staff and nice club bar facilities. Try it, as it might suit you and you'll probably like it.Reviewer Rating

Good considering the weather
Considering all the rain we’ve had in the area I tell you what it’s in good nik, greens were ok a little bobbly in places but didn’t effect the roll some of the bunkers was full of water ( no surprise) lots of leaves about and sometimes hard to find your ball amongst them but again it’s that time of year and probably too wet to pick up and we didn’t let it spoil a nice round of golf. Tees could be better very muddy and a lot of divots on them particularly the par 3s. Overall a challenging course and I would definitely play here againReviewer Rating

Nice Round
Played here but didn’t realised they have done work to the greens until we arrived and was informed by the pro shop. Driving range was superb will ball tracker etc and crazy golf attached outside which looks like it would be good for a family on a warm sunny day. Anyway moving back to the golf course. You have to be very straight off the tee on most holes otherwise you could be in trouble as the rough is very punishing I wouldn’t say it was long it’s just very thick and there’s lots of trees to negotiate with. Bunkers could be better some have a good amount of sand in and others are like concrete thankfully I didn’t find too many of them ???? like I said at the start the Greenkeepers have done work to the greens so they was quite slow and a bit bumpy but not to the extent where it affects your putting that much. I appreciate the fact that it’s the time of the year where this work happens as my home club have done the same so can’t really complain. Food was excellent in the clubhouse too, will definitely return next year but probably in the summer time to see what it’s like then.Reviewer Rating

Challenging Course, needs some improvements
Course was challenging with the fairways along with the 1st and 2nd cuts of rough in very good condition.Bunkers were inconsistent in their levels of sand (some were fine, others had hardly any sand, some were like playing out of concrete etc) so they need some work.
Greens were also inconsistent, some were fast, some were slow.
Overall, i enjoyed the course and would play here again but it wasnt without its faults

Good Course has improved a lot
Last time I played here I said I wouldn’t return due to the condition of the course and greens however played with a group from work and to my surprise the improvements are massive.Greens running fast and true and can actually hold a ball on them this time. Bunkers a lot better than before must of had new sand and the presentation of the course was really good, definitely has changed my mind and will probably return again.

Could be a lot better
Potentially this could be a top class venue. The Club house, golf shop(s), golf range and staff were excellent. However badly let down by the condition of the course, grass on fairways was far to long making the long par 4?s into par 5?s, bunkers had little sand in them, with greens slow and badly maintained.Reviewer Rating

Superb
Played this course a few times and just keeps getting better and better each time. Last played this in 2022 when it was scorching hot and understandably back then the greens were rock hard and some badly burnt by the sun and bunkers were very poor. However played here again yesterday and wow what a difference around the clubhouse looks neater and tidier, and the course was in fantastic condition even looks like they’ve spent some money on the bunkers seems to be new sand in most. Greens were in very good condition a little on the slower side to other courses but still very good. Enjoyable day again they have an offer on at the moment too a flexi membership there is a banner at the back of the 18th green and I am considering this.Reviewer Rating

Needs some TLC
Played this yesterday, 23.05.23 and having played it lots of times was looking forward to returning. The Course itself I do enjoy playing however, they had cut the grass and there were clumps and piles of loose grass everywhere, even on the fairways. You could hit your ball well and middle of fairway and struggle to find it as there was loose grass everywhere. on quite a few occasions we spent time looking for balls that were well enough hit and straight, but simply landed under the piles of loose grass. Several bunkers were extremely sparse with very little sand in them. Overall though I enjoyed the course and would certainly visit again. With the current weather its a hard job being a greenkeeper.Reviewer Rating

Bank Holiday Golf
From arriving at the car park to leaving...the whole place is tired and scruffy.£30 fee to play is far too steep.
Uneven tee boxes...shocking greens...stones in the bunkers.
This place looks like its on the eay out.
Save your money and play elsewhere.
POOR POOR POOR.
