Could be a lot better
Potentially this could be a top class venue. The Club house, golf shop(s), golf range and staff were excellent. However badly let down by the condition of the course, grass on fairways was far to long making the long par 4?s into par 5?s, bunkers had little sand in them, with greens slow and badly maintained.Reviewer Rating

Nice course
It's a nice course, but no more than that. There are a couple of interesting holes, 8, 10 & 16 spring to mind, but generally it's quite flat.
Considering the rain it was in good condition. I can't comment on the greens as we were on 17 temporary greens. From looking at them they looked good.
The hotel let's it down, it's disorganised, the gym wasn't open, I couldn't charge drinks to my room & the food was very average. The girl at breakfast was great, but otherwise the staff were all pretty grumpy.
The driving range across the car park is superb. ?7 for 100 balls with Trackman! & a great putting chipping area.

Very wet and muddy
Very competitive cost for a course that was in excellent condition the last time I played two months ago. Unfortunately, the course was very wet and the fairways grass were quite long and greens needed aerating for drainage. Some areas were very muddy too. Play was very slow due to a trio in front of me, who only offered to let me through on 12th even though they started 3 holes plus in front of me.That was only after asking if I was being held up.They even missed holes out and ended up in front of me again! Just over 4 hours to complete!(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 98 Handicap: 25.2)

Wasn't too happy with the course, greens were in bad condition!! although it is a long and tight course which makes it a good test.

The overall experience was fine.
Some TLC is needed but generally a good local course.
Dissappointed I had to beg to get 9 holes on the day!

Needs some TLC
Played this yesterday, 23.05.23 and having played it lots of times was looking forward to returning. The Course itself I do enjoy playing however, they had cut the grass and there were clumps and piles of loose grass everywhere, even on the fairways. You could hit your ball well and middle of fairway and struggle to find it as there was loose grass everywhere. on quite a few occasions we spent time looking for balls that were well enough hit and straight, but simply landed under the piles of loose grass. Several bunkers were extremely sparse with very little sand in them. Overall though I enjoyed the course and would certainly visit again. With the current weather its a hard job being a greenkeeper.Reviewer Rating
