Course was in good condition, greens were quick and if you could find the right spot on the fairway ran well. A couple of blind drives, so need to follow the marker posts. Bunkers firm so best avoided. Good practice areas. Very friendly.

Played Burnley a few times now and each time always with a fairly gusty wind, (which is normal as a bit exposed to the elements) Certainly the overall condition of course has improved since last year, although very wet improvements are there to see. Greens in decent nick, fairways looking good. Good practice facilities. New pro in residence. Things are looking good. Always worth a round as some nice holes like par 3 7th, and par 4 18th. A few blind holes to be had, but well marked out.

This was the best test of golf for me this year with the wind and blind holes it is a course you need to play again to get a better score, you can tell it is a braid design who is one of the best golf course designers who have ever lived, the course itself isn't the longest course I have played but with it being so high up you do not need it to be any longer with the wind, I will be back to this golf club soon. The club house is small but has had a lot of work done inside and looks really nice the food was first class and they even have a couple of real ales. The pro shop is small but has the essentials needed and the lads were so helpful to all in all a great golfing experience

Nice course. Greens fast even in damp conditions. Nice placement of bunkers and ditches makes it challenging

I played this course on 20th October 2013, I found the course a good test with some of the holes with elevated tees which were truly astounding giving excellent views of the surrounding area.
The greens, tee beds and fairways were in excellent condition with the course a fair test with the wind blowing a little.
The pro shop was very helpful and could not do enough for our visiting party.
After the round we had the all day breakfast which was excellent served in the newly re furbished club house.....I will definitely be visiting again in the future as everyone agreed that the course and the facilities were first class.

Course is in good condition, greens are excellent at present. Very windy today which affects the shots, but that also makes the course play different every time you visit.

The course is designed by James Braid, same designer for gleneagles. Having played Gleneagles this year I wondered how this would fair and I have to say that it comes in my top 5 courses I've ever played, probably number 3 after the Kings and Queens courses.

I think this course is under exposed considering how good and testing a track it is, but that may be because the management of it wasn't massively impressive.

For starters it's not at all signposted off the main roads nearby and the driveway leading the clubhouse could be mistaken for a large footpath or bridleway. On the course itself they do have some nice tee number boards with hole layouts, however, there often aren't clear signposts to the next tee. With many blind shots you have to rely on the marker posts in the fairway, however, I found a number of these to be off the line of the shot with a couple needing to be shot quite left of to be safe, especially if you have a natural fade. Despite that the scenery and the layout of the course is quite astounding and if I lived up in Burnley it would be the course for me.

The clubhouse is in much need of some paint and pride and i recoken that this course could command some great attraction if marketed right. For instance the cheapest pitch forks going with justa paper logo sticker on isn't the best memento in the world!

Anyway, i'll be back to try it out when i'm next up north again!
