The fairways and greens were in good order, however, either side of all the fairways the rough was at least 2' high and unless you had a spotter you were unlikely to locate your ball quickly, which in turn slowed play greatly. It was the same on top of the bunkers, so you had a double hassard. I thought the plan was to speed up play,this certainly lenghtened our round bt at least half an hour, because sometimes the bounce took us into the rough and sometimes it just ran into it. I have played Bungay before and it has not been this bad.

Poor condition
Played recently and fairways had been scarified and greens hollow tined making putting a lottery. Whilst, as golfers, we understand that course maintenance is important it is wrong that visitors are not informed and green fees reduced. Extremely unhelpful when we complained. We will not be playing here again- far better courses around.Reviewer Rating

A quirky little course with some very interesting holes and some straight forward mid length par 4's. We played on a very windy day so was a good test on firm fairways. Staff were rude/unwelcoming in pro shop and in the bar.

Nice course. We finished at 9pm members in the Clubhouse but we were told that the bar closed at 7pm. Disappointing.

A super local course that i had not visited before . Some of our group had been visiting as part of a society for many a year and as that had stopped decided to continue the annual visit .,28 of us played , good value , super bar and food ( fish and chips) . Course was testing but fair ,,very enjoyable and i will visit again before next year. Thanks Bungay.

linksy, common land mostly the public stay to the sides, lots of gorse about, periscopes where needed, some very enjoyable holes.£15 after 3pm.

Heathland

amazing improvements
Bungay has made great progress in recent years, improving greens and aprons. Old bunkers have been rebuilt and repositioned to make the course more interesting. Tees have been extended with the intention of making the course longer - still work in progress. The course has been payable all winter, despite the rain and flooding elsewhere. Great course shame about some of the members
Played bungey for the 2nd time recently, course and facilities were stunning, the only thing that slightly spoilt the day was a few of the members, one particular lady was rather rude and abrupt but the staff were all very friendly.Reviewer Rating

Great course - in wet weather

GREAT LITTLE COURSE DESIGNED BY BRAID, WELL DRAIND AND EVEN AFTER THE WETTEST WEATHER IT IS POSSIBLE TO PLAY. GREEN MUCH IMPROVED AND OVERALL WELL KEPT FOR A WELL USED GOLF COURSE.

Great course - partly designed by James Braird, interesting holes, greens in good condition, fairways not watered so conditions change with weather. long grass, but wide fairways. Club house upto date with good food and outside seating area.
