What the club says: The course sits in a horseshoe- shaped loop formed by the River Waveney, and is an inland heathland course, with plenty of gorse and a mixture of pine and birch trees. Set in only 84 acres of well-drained land, it is a very comfortable course to walk and rarely suffers from excessive water.

The greens are quite small and well-protected, and the challenge is therefore in accuracy rather than length. In early spring the course is at its best, with the abundance of gorse in flower and some lovely views over the surrounding marshes. There is a variety of wildlife to distract you from your game, and skylarks can often be heard singing overhead.

I am a member here and count myself very fortunate to live in close proximity to such a great course. During Lockdown our green keepers continued to work and the course is in tip top condition.

Great course shame about some of the members

Played bungey for the 2nd time recently, course and facilities were stunning, the only thing that slightly spoilt the day was a few of the members, one particular lady was rather rude and abrupt but the staff were all very friendly.

Great course - in wet weather

Course is always payable - even in really wet weather and when all the surrounding land flooded. Built on an ancient gravel pit, drains very well but grass can be iffy.

The fairways and greens were in good order, however, either side of all the fairways the rough was at least 2' high and unless you had a spotter you were unlikely to locate your ball quickly, which in turn slowed play greatly. It was the same on top of the bunkers, so you had a double hassard. I thought the plan was to speed up play, this certainly lenghtened our round bt at least half an hour, because sometimes the bounce took us into the rough and sometimes it just ran into it. I have played Bungay before and it has not been this bad.
