Lovely course, incredibly difficult greens. Top golf course.Corporate post match care not particularly good. Bars close at 2100 which when your staying on site is not very good at all

Palmerston - Very Good
I've played many good parkland courses over the years, and the Palmerston is right up there with them.Played late afternoon on a perfect early June day so got excellent visual conditions. Conditions were excellent all around (admittedly off the back of some of the best growing weather in ages, but they'd made the most of it). Greens were a little slow by the end, as you would expect from Poa Anna grass, but run true.
The design is good. No water to content with. Plenty of well shaped and positioned bunkers, which fit sympathetically with the overall layout. All holes play in isolation from each other, and while none are stand out none are the same and all are good in of themselves. What makes the course is the landscape, which is stunning. Great changes in elevation and combinations of tight woodlands with varied mature trees and just enough open space to make you feel comfortable.
Get it on a twilight on a good day and it's well worth the money.

Lovely setting
First time I?d played this course. Lovely setting and some really interesting holes including plenty of water. The condition of the course - a few greens wasn't what I?d expect for a top quality track. Overall, very enjoyable, wide fairways and quite forgiving at the time of my visit - so possible to score well whilst providing a test for better players.Reviewer Rating

2 lovely courses at Brocket Hall with the Palmerston my favourite. Although the Melbourne has many of the signature holes (based around the River Lea), the Palmerston is more enjoyable as an inland course, similar to the Marquess at Woburn. Fantastic practice facilities too.

Brocket Hall is a spectacular venue. The Melbourne crosses the river three times, except in the more severe winter weather when the course is slightly adapted.
