Had our annual golf day 5/12/14 played Palmerston course, very poor more a mud bath than golf course even pro shop said it was very muddy. The course should have been closed but hosting a society £££ kept it open very very poor . To top the day off served spaghetti swimming in oil most of the guests left their food. We have played every year at Brocket for many years and until Friday had no complaints unfortunately this year has left a disappointed sour taste don't think we will return next year.

Played both courses in March. Both are very nice. Melbourne easier because 2nd nine is mainly flat and open. Melbourne front 9 and all of Palmerston are set wonderfully through mature forests. Palmerston especially beautiful holes with length and interesting elevation changes. Greens very good too. Stayed in lodge overnight, which is fine, but because it's a par 5 distance to the clubhouse for food and there are no other facilities, best to consider like a B&B rather than a hotel. Would like to play again in Summer when the trees are fully leaved. HCP 13, Round 92/96

Played the Melbourne recently as a members guest on a very hot day. Very impressed with the quality of greens and facilities. Everything was top notch. Greens true and fairly quick. Plenty of water hazards. The 18th is great par 5 'risk & reward' hole, downhill then over a large lake to the green. I managed it with a long drive and a 5 iron which completed a great day of golf. I'm sure you'll enjoy this place.

The Palmerston course really is stunning as is the whole set up at Brocket Hall.

Quite a hilly undulating course with lots of trees and bunkers,no water though.

Huge greens.

very pretty scenic course which tests your ability to keep the ball in play and get it into the right position for your next shot.

An absolute gem of a course..for me the best course I've played for the money. £120 for 2 rounds on both courses, overnight stay with excellent room facilities. Excellent pro shop, excellent driving range, putting green with on hand PGA instructor if needed...even the range balls are Titleist which you don't pay for...lsuperb picturesque course with the 18th you requiring a ferry to get to he island green...absolutely loved it
