Stay out of the rough as this can be thick and deep in places.
The greens vary in speed and all need to be studied as they all hve a personality of their own.

Clubhouse was a lovely old place, with friendly staff. Only downside was maybe lack of practice facilities.
Definitely worth a visit in better weather

The greens must be the fastest in Yorkshire with some very tricky two tiered dancefloors on a few of the holes.
Be wary of the par 3 18th. A small ravine to the right catches the poorly struck shot far too easily.
Friendly members are willing to allow you to join them for a round if playing alone.
Tends to suffer with poor drainage at times, especially during prolonged spells of wet weather. Still doesn't slow the greens down though!!!

A joy to visit
Tee times limited on the day due to a members competition but managed to book a 10.10am on line. Arrived early and where offered an earlier tee time with a members fourball allowing us to play before them. Our first time here and not disappointed. Its a great course with some great views. There is a gradual climb upto the 8th/9th holes so beware. However the climb is worth it. Course is in great condition and a proper challenge, as the slope rating of 138 (off yellows) confirms. We passed and crossed the President's fourball a couple of times and found them to be very friendly and welcoming. Lovely clubhouse and the pint of White Rat and Bradley burger most welcome at the end. Excellent value and strongly recommended.Reviewer Rating

Tough greens at this course
This course drains very well in what we've experienced with rainfall. The greens are very difficult and a great test.Reviewer Rating
