what a waste of money,greens horrible,played better greens at council pitch and putt as a kid,,stripped and full of sand,not even smothed out,greens like putting in bunkers,couldnt putt straight due to deep grooves and sand,shame on you for not warning us beforehand,would have played somewhere else,blew £35

ALthough we played this in January the greens were a disgrace with hardly any grass on them at all- with clumps of completely bare mud patches.

Too difficult for medium handicappers. Bunkers unfairly placed in front of almost all greens and both sides of almost every drive. Course management of typical hotel course - over booked resulting in 5hrs round!

I know it was early in the season but some of the greens were in a poor condition. that said it is set in lovely surroundings and worthy of a visit.

very good
The curse was in excellent condition considering the lack of rain however both the fairways and greens had been well kept. We started with the a nice breakfast in the bar. Service was good and staff friendly and helpful. We also hired buggies which i would recommend as the course is long. (The half way house was also a good serving tea and pastes.) Shower Facilities where clean and tidy but small considering the set up. The only down side was the price of the drinks after the game £30 for four pints we felt was excessive and therefore never stayed for another drink,which was a shame because the whole set up was nice in the bar area. I would return to play the course again as it was very challenging and enjoyable.Reviewer Rating

Review of 2 rounds
we played here 6 years ago on our society and the front and back 9's have been flipped to represent the original layout. I could not remember many holes from the last visit and its fair to say whilst this course is good, its not memorable with certain holes standing out. The greens were good but very slow, the bunkers have a mixture of sand in them and far too much of it.About 80% of the fairways have been scarified and drill seeded so not in great shape, we played preferred lies.
It is worth £100, not at the moment.
The clubhouse staff are fantastic and the practice facilities also very good. I would maybe leave it till late July before playing in hope the fairways come back.

Excellent condition unless wet
Have played three times. Tough course but really enjoyable and amazing condition. One round was very boggy (spring), don't think the course drains well so play in summer.Reviewer Rating

Played here with a friend whilst staying at the hotel. Course in good condition given the recent dry weather. Greens were true and rolled well. Some of the rough had been cut back since I'd played at a similar time last year which was helpful. Mask required in the pro shop which was also one way, both of which were no problem, though shame you couldn't look round. Friendly welcome and nice food and pint in golf bar post round. £50 for the round was reasonable.

Worthwhile visit
Blustery afternoon on a course that is always difficult.First cut of rough was disappointingly long which made a tough course tougher and cost some time searching.
Otherwise course in good nick but will improve as it dries out for the summer.

Beautiful, and challenging
A gorgeous course - beautifully & immaculately maintained. View of the White Horse hill from the first tee. Some very acute angled dog-legs, and plenty of bunkers for the unwary. Not many water hazards, but the ones that are there will challenge you. It was a sunny, humid day on the day we played. A really terrific 18 holes, well worth £40 green fee.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 107 Handicap: 23.5)

Good course
A good course with very well kept fairways and bunkers. The greens were not quite up to the same standard, being not as smooth as I expected. Putts were thus more testing than they should have been. Overall though it was a fair test with some interesting challenges.Reviewer Rating

An enjoyable challenge
Played here as part of a corporate event and really liked the course. It's long and difficult with lots to think about on the way. The nick of the fairways and greens was great though the greens were a devil to read. Staff were great and if you travel to this course you'll not be disappointed with the investment in time.
