5 An enjoyable challenge
Played here as part of a corporate event and really liked the course. It's long and difficult with lots to think about on the way. The nick of the fairways and greens was great though the greens were a devil to read. Staff were great and if you travel to this course you'll not be disappointed with the investment in time. Thoroughly recommend fed!! View moreCourse (layout/challlenge)

5 Absolutely beautiful setting. Nice course, not too difficult but very long. I'd recommend a buggy even though I prefer to walk. Nice food and nice welcome in pro shop.

5 An excellent course which still played well despite the wet weather. Greens were in great condition. My only criticism is that the course could do with more yardage markers. Looking forward to playing this course again.

5 Course was in good condition, very fast and true greens. Long for a mid handicapper, and many dog legs. You need to draw and fade well to get a good score. Rough was very tough!

5 The course after a difficult winter where the greens and fairways were starting to look rough, is now returning to its former glory.
Greens improving rapidly. Lots of unrepaired pitch marks on greens. Lack of rakes in bunkers. Apart from that...........Tops

5 A real gem of a course. Kept in immacualate condition when we played (July 2012). There are virtually no weak holes on this layout, and the par 5's are exceptional.
Very much American in design with the front of the greens being protected by bunkers and therefore requiring to fly the ball all the way to the putting surface.
We paid £115 for a 36 hole stay and would have paid a lot more.
I would rate this as a superior version to Hanbur Manor and St. Pierre.

5 Fantastic course, long and challenging but not unpayable. Would advise the purchase of a course planner to aid with the blind shots / doglegs as it can be tough first time round. Above all else, a very nice friendly welcome and BEAUTIFUL course in great condition.

5 WOW WOW WOW
This course is beautiful. You have to come and play this.
Stunning setting, beautiful course, fabulous hazards wonderfully set.
Every hole had its own elegant chalenges.
I'm going back when I can really play to enjoy the course at its full potential.
Fabulous. There are not enough great words to do this course justice.
Hard as nails but delicate also. Take your hiking boots.

5 A fantastic challenging course for any club golfer. Althought he green fee (£49) would put most people off. Georgeous fairways albiet narrow and snooker table greens make the round a pleasure and well as a pain. However the rough had recently been cut and the bales left so if you strayed off the fairway you would be lucky to find your ball. Which is an unnecessary waste. Also a very long course.
A pleasure to play it but expensive.

5 Played here with a friend whilst staying at the hotel. Course in good condition given the recent dry weather. Greens were true and rolled well. Some of the rough had been cut back since I'd played at a similar time last year which was helpful. Mask required in the pro shop which was also one way, both of which were no problem, though shame you couldn't look round. Friendly welcome and nice food and pint in golf bar post round. £50 for the round was reasonable.

5 I have been a golf member for almost my first full season at Bowood and it has been and continues to be one of the best I have ever experienced due to the welcome, friendliness and unique facilities as well as being an amazing golf course. I can highly recommend to anyone who is considering either to play as a visitor or to become a member to not think twice as I am sure you will find whatever you chose it would no doubt be a memorable experience.

5 Top Class Facility
Bowood is a superb golf course. Intelligent design, good bunkering and lots of multi tiered greens make this a really good challenge. Also one of the classiest stay & play venues in the UK

5 Lovely course in good nick. Was lucky to get round it when it was quiet and a couple of members let me through on the 3rd which was appreciated. Warm welcome in the pro shop too. Course itself played well and is a decent challenge. Nice variety in the course and greens were decent if a little firm. Will play again when in the area.

5 Bowood
Course was in fantastic condition, shame about the weather as it did not stop raining all day. Despite this and the obvious effect on the golf all elements of the course were superb. Very friendly staff and as always a pleasure to visit
