Exceptional Condition !
So whilst other courses in the area struggle to get the courses looking good and playing well, Bondhay have nailed it. Course was best it’s looked when I’ve been there in 5 years. Lush fairways, great greens and tee boxes were decent too. Yes, it’s the hardest course we play locally but golf should be a challenge, it’s not for pussies ! Stray off the fairway and you’ll be punished, play the course with thought and you can get in the 80’s .. come on an off day and you’ll be over 100. For £18 it was a complete bargain and the staff are always professional and welcoming. That’s why we as a society come here time and time again. This course is great for getting a different winner each and every time and yes 32/33 points can win a society day here.Reviewer Rating

A good test
Generally accepted as one if the areas toughest courses, Bondhay rarely disappoints, its a nice mix of short tricky holes, longer par 4s and memorable par 5s, mostly tree lined fairways and plenty of dog legs, all bunkered to frustrate the wayward. The layout constantly attempts to take driver out of a players hands and as a consequence tests all other areas of your game, risk or reward is a constant theme.
Despite its length though, its not a bombers course, often rewarding a more planned approach, and for certain your short game will be tested!
This is a track for the players out there.
Grumbles generally surround the many bunkers and their condition which is variable to say the least, and Its no surprise that quite an effort is being made at present to fill in many of the bunkers that weren't really in play and this should ensure that the survivors should in future recieve the maintenance they require.
Great off course facilities including a lovely 19th with good food and reasonably priced drinks complete the picture of a good quality reasonably priced golf facility that sets a test all serious golfers should sit at least once.

Can you overcome the Bondhay Beast
This is without doubt the hardest course in the area and is a known scorecard killer as the many trees and bunkers have terrorised many good golfers. Personally I love it, its a course I have never played well there but I keep going back for more punishment. Food is great and there is a par 3 and a driving range onsite. Plus it has the best 18th hole in the area, bar none ! Get yourself there and see if you can break 80-85 strokes.Reviewer Rating

A treat
Played Bondhay for the first time in perfect weather this week and found that it certainly lived up to it's challenging reputation as mentioned by other reviewers. A beautiful layout enhanced by, not hindered by, some excellent water features (I've played courses with a lot more of the wet stuff!) and terrific greens made this a really enjoyable round. Despite being a high handicapper I didn't feel intimidated at all and managed to get round quite comfortably with my game intact. My only criticism would be the bunkers - not the quantity but the quality as the sand needs some work (too many hard patches and stones).Overall well worth a visit.

Hidden course worth a visit
Keep drives straight as many fairways are tree lined, par 3's well protected. Par5's protected by water. Course well worth playing but can be slow.Reviewer Rating

Assault course
No, I didn't play well, but ugh. I've played here several times and there's too much water, too many trees, too many obstacles altogether. Also the greens were very bumpy, bare areas around the greens and the bunkers crusty. Ok, early season, I know, but compared with my own course which is not far away, Bondhay just wasn't in good condition.
Played in a society of 20 players, ranging from single figures to 28. Only 3 people got 30+ points (off yellows). So either we're all rubbish or the course is just too damn hard. Up to you to decide. With a few less hazards, it could be a good course...
