What the club says: The course was taken over by the current owners in June 2016 who continue to work hard and make Barlborough Links the best 9 hole course in the area. New regular cutting regimes, newer equipment and a greens management programme are helping to keep the course in good shape. USGA spec greens mean summer greens are in play all year round. Regular rotation of grass tees also means we try and stay on grass for as long as possible, only moving to mats when absolutely necessary.
A 9 hole par 35 FootGolf course was installed in July 2016 and provides an ideal place for young and old to take their first steps into the principles of golf using a football.
March 2017 saw the opening of a new Reception and small coffee shop housed within the existing driving range, taking the number of bays available to 11. A small selection of hot/cold drinks and chocolate are currently available.
Consistent opening hours in Reception are restoring the faith of previous customers who weren't sure when the course or range would be open!

Very enjoyableA bit windy today but very enjoyable, equalling my all time best round, shot 37, had 3 birdie chances, the course is playing very well and the greens are very impressive, well done Neil and the gang, social distances are being adhered too and staff are very helpful, well worth playing.

A little gemCourse as always in excellent condition. greens superb. A great way to spend some time if you haven't g.ot time for a full round

Lovely weatherGround very boggy but then that’s to be expected, greens are fast and getting better after the disease, all in all a pleasant round, I’m sure within the next few weeks once the ground has dried up the course will be back to its best, according to the app I use the 150 markers on some of the holes are as much as 20 yards out.
(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 45 Handicap: )
Getting better all the time. The continuous work being carried out on the course and it's facilities is starting to pay dividends, a pleasure to play on it these days.
Hidden gemFantastic 9 hole golf course worth visiting.
Freindly staff with a very knowedgable owner / pga golf coach.

Course is okThe course is actually playing quite well considering how boggy the course is, greens are in such good condition compared to a few years ago and at this time of the year, too many players are still leaving pitch marks especially on the par 3 6th, a good little course for the price. Considering the course conditions I had a good round and my mate Nigel played well also.
(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 40 Handicap: )
Course is looking goodPlayed 2 rounds of 9, first 9 not too good but pleased with the second 9, scored 45 and 41, the greens are so much better than ever before, Neil your a genius, I would still like to see the post markers for 100 and 150 mtrs, it would be so much easier to see them, the ones on the floor are not so visible, luckily I have got a rangefinder, no point in practicing and learning your distances if you can't see how far away you are, a big thanks too all really, course is becoming a little gem.

New Ownership. This has been my local course since I could first hold a club however I'd never shout about it being my favourite course for a few reasons. However the course is now under new ownership and I couldn't imagine better people for it! They've improved the course no end already and from what they have been promising it's going to just keep getting better. Lovely people too.
The only major downside at the minute is the fact there is no clubhouse (due to a fire a few years back).
Course in very good condition at the moment and the greens are improving all the time.
(Round played: May 2017 - Score: 45 Handicap: )
Course is looking good. Greens are looking and playing very well.
(Round played: Mar 2017 - Score: 47 Handicap: )
Sadly the course does seem to attract a few people who seem to struggle with pace of play issues, sharing a bag of clubs is a common sight there, as are single players dawdling along playing more than one ball.
Playing through seems to be a foreign concept, and as the club gets busier as it improves, I would imagine the management will have to take measures to address these, and one or two on course safety issues.
This said, good luck to Barlborough golf club, it's good to see a local course on the up for a change.
