What the club says: Bondhay Golf Club's two courses feature spectacular design architecture and provide a challenge for players of all handicaps.
Bondhay 18 Hole Championship Course - Described as the only true championship standard course in the region, the 6871 yard, par 72 course dominates the surrounding Nottinghamshire countryside, offering a formidable round of golf with water hazards coming into play on 4 holes.
Bondhay 9 Hole Academy Course - The 9 hole academy par 3 course is perfect for beginners, experienced players honing their skills or for those who don't have time to complete a full round on the main course.

Played here several times since the early nineties and most recently the 10th June 2012. The course has seen many changes since it first opened in the early nineties, some good and some bad.
The tees, fairways and greens are usually in fantastic condition, although the bunkers are a bit lacking in soft sand far my liking. Greens will hold well if you hit them on the fly, and you need to do that as every hole has bunkers covering at least part of the entrance to the green.
As others have said, the punishment for a slightly off line shot can be very severe with bunkers only inches from the greens on every hole and trees only a couple of feet from most of the fairways, plus fairway bunkers on most holes.
What others have not mentioned is that if you avoid the water then you should not really lose a ball unless you hit a really wild shot. The rough is fairly short through most of the course, but miss the fairway and your only option may well be a chip back onto the short stuff due to the trees blocking your route.
After seeing all the changes over the last 20 years, I would say the course is better for it overall but I do think a few less bunkers would improve things further, or at least move them a bit further away from the greens.
The 18th is a real disappointment for me. They have tried to make a grand stand finishing hole but its more like crazy golf if you ask me. Its a bit of a "marmite" hole. You either love it or hate it, and for me its the latter.
The club house and driving range are not the best you will ever see and could really do with some work which would greatly improve the visitors experience.
Overall though its a quality course at a very reasonable price. Just don't expect to get a low score !! - Jun 14 2012

(Round played: Oct 2015 - Score: 108 Handicap: 19.9) greens good and true.weather windy.would benefit having an up to date course planner due to the number of blind holes.

Golf Course Reviews for Bondhay Golf Club
Played the course this week and what a shame the course has been massively neglected during the winter with scars still showing where rubber mats were in place. Now in the hot weather the sprinklers are either broken or need servicing as the are on the green and tees that the sprinklers reach are lovely and lush but the other parts of the greens are burnt and dying off. The fringes are cracking open and lifting, in some places the turf is curling up 2-3 inches. The bunkers WOW these should be GUR they contain a light sprinkling of dust in them not sand and are full of stones and rocks and not to mention weeds growing in them everywhere, they are like playing out of concrete and are an eyesore. The course with a little TLC eg soft sand in the bunkers after they have been de weeded and de stoned. Greenstaff actually inspecting the course and getting out with the hosepipe to reach the areas that are dying off before it is too late to recover. Spoke to members who have complained but nothing seems to be done a real shame...
Course in good condition, plenty of bunkers to keep you on your toes Fair challenge for every level of golfer

A lovely course in great condition. Some stunning holes across water and lots of bunkers! This makes it tough but very enjoyable.

Paid £17.50 to play this on a warm bank holiday afternoon and, at that price, it was very food value. The bunkers are disappointing. There are a lot of them and they all really need more sand. Other than that though the course was in good condition. It is tight and you need to be straight to score but I enjoyed the test. Back 9 is better than the front which feels a bit up and down.
Played bondhay yesterday expecting the course to be in really good condition but I was slightly disappointed . Weeds in every bunker and the bunkers were like concrete with little sand . Loose grass cuttings left on most holes which I didn’t expect to see from what I’d know to be a good course .
Bondhay is a lovely course, always in great condition and is a challenge for long and short hitters. Having played this course 8 times I have only ever got under 100 once (I am a 13 handicapper). I just can't seem to nail it on the right holes. But I will always go back, i just need the challenge in my life. Food's good too by the way !
This is a course which gradually sucks you into making mistakes. The 10th and 11th holes over the lake are not for the squeamish. There are also lots of hidden bunkers, particularly on the back 9.

Great course and in excellent condition, very friendly and polite staff - really challenging course
(Round played: Dec 2017 - Score: 91 Handicap: 18.9)
Great day, lucky with the weather, well organised and a course in superb condition. A great relief to play on fairways with run, the main challenge was the multitude of bunkers. A course I will visit again in summer. Gents locker room smelt badly of off drains and needs sorting.
Challenging course - tight and long -greens ok not the best I've played recently but decent same for the fairways not manicured but acceptable - overall a good test of your golf - food ok chips and burger special bit over cooked bit for a fiver ! Can complain too much - speed of play as a 2 ball was good for the first 9 - then a 4 ball with buggy started on the 10 in front of the group in front - it slowed down dramatically from there on !!!

what a little gem tucked away on the outskirts of worksop,Challenging the wayward swinger good practice for tight shots through the trees, well laid out will play here again.Hopefully my score will improve.

The Championship course at Bondhay is not for the faint-hearted, with tight fairways, a plethora of bunkers and barely a flat(ish) green in sight, it's a proper test. One my 21 handicap game failed to pass today, I'm afraid, as I struggled to a meagre 27 points, after being in good form recently!
The course was in lovely condition, other than the fact that some of the bunkers needed a bit more sand.(They probably ran out trying to fill them all to a decent depth).
At £20/round Thursday/Friday and £17/round Monday-Wednesday it offers great value too.
All the staff and members we bumped into were friendly and the pint of Bondhay Bitter we had in the clubhouse after went down a treat at a very reasonable £2-70/pint.
All in all a good day on a great, if taxing, course.
