There was a change of ownership from Crown golf to the landlord on 25-4-15, ahead of the probable closure next spring (for the building of 3 schools and several hundred homes). In this interim period the golf course and driving range will remain open, but the clubhouse has closed. The operation is being run from the driving range where there are toilets and you can get a coffee, but there are no changing rooms or bar. The course, however, is being kept very well, with the greens running fast and the fairways having largely recovered from the wet winter. The grass in the rough has been allowed to grow a little longer, which does cause a bit of a delay sometimes as you can be looking for a ball that is just off the fairway, but you can't see it until you're on top of it. The lack of facilities is reflected in the prices and many of the Club Members have stayed with the Club, with Competitions due to resume on 10-5-15.

played this course with a society course in very poor condition due to fact that is closing down soon after 25th April will only be golf course with no amenities for the last year looks as if staff have lost interest .

Previous rounds of golf at this course have been mostly enjoyable, if a little wet and muddy at times. Sadly the threat of closure hanging over the golf course has resulted in it looking unkept and in poor condition. Not surprising as I understand there is no clear indication as to the outcome of discussions and some green staff and pro shop staff have already or are leaving. The greens were OK but a lot of the fairways were not cut and in poor condition. Very little rain during the week but the course was very muddy throughout.
