A nice round of golf, fairways in good condition, some bunkers need some looking after, whilst others are in good shape. Greens a little long after some work but in a few weeks should be good, though they still rolled true. A good and enjoyable course for a public golf course, which is also a public park. This is my second time playing here and would definitely play again.

(Round played: Feb 2015 - Score: 87 Handicap: 22. Course is well past its sell by date, the council are trying to close it down. There's a petition in the clubhouse to save the course but with property prices being what they are I fear it will go to a developer.

The course has left to rack and ruin. Which is a shame, this used to be a very nice course

teed off at 7.15am on a glorious spring morning at one of my favourite courses. a fair but of work has been done since I was last here as several of the tee boxes have been re-turfed and the greens were in decent shape. the only downside are the bunkers as there are no rakes so you are often playing out of footprints!!!
I cannot believe that the council are looking to close this course after saying that on average 40 players pass through here a day. by the time we finished there was a queue of about 15 people waiting to tee off and the course was packed with 4 balls!

I have played golf here now for 15 years and can't believe the Council have now decided the close the course - the only public 18 hole golf course in inner London! It is a wonderful place for beginners, and has a mixed membership of all colours, ages and abilities. The course and facilities have been allowed to fester as a precursor to closure - but this still could be a money making venture for the council. Anyone reading this please join the fight to save it at:
Anyway the message is, please support the campaign..... And send on to your facebook friends, colleagues, other contacts etc.......Through the following channels
Epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitio
ns/70912 (need 10,000 signatures to get a ministerial meeting.... Have around 2,000 so far so need more)
E mail [email protected]
And follow the Facebook and Twitter pages (just search for them).....

greens left far too long so very slow and inconsistent.
they management need to keep control of the dress code and there were too many people in jeans and t shirts.
