Looking good after the winter. Nice course with limited facilities but would be a real shame to see it close. More interesting than the Richmond courses.

Play this course and keep it open. Lovely course used to be busiest in Europe. Local Council are trying to close it.

I have played this course many times, but it is closing at the end of the year. You can tell. Poor condition. Sad really.

I have played golf here now for 15 years and can't believe the Council have now decided the close the course - the only public 18 hole golf course in inner London! It is a wonderful place for beginners, and has a mixed membership of all colours, ages and abilities. The course and facilities have been allowed to fester as a precursor to closure - but this still could be a money making venture for the council. Anyone reading this please join the fight to save it at:
Anyway the message is, please support the campaign..... And send on to your facebook friends, colleagues, other contacts etc.......Through the following channels
Epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitio
ns/70912 (need 10,000 signatures to get a ministerial meeting.... Have around 2,000 so far so need more)
E mail [email protected]
And follow the Facebook and Twitter pages (just search for them).....

It's the best the course has looked, handy for a quick round, there are better around for the money, green were very fast bunkers are very bad,(no sand rakes ect) fairways good, but on the whole a good afternoon.

The course is pretty well maintained for the traffic that passes through. The club house is pretty basic but has most things in the shop you will need. All in all not bad if you just fancy getting out and playing if your local.

slowly improving the course, new staff also, place being run properly so should keep the idiots/hackers away

Awful, not a golf course but a public park with some greens on. If you want to try golf for the first time without any pressure then this is possibly a good place to try as it is cheap.
My experience was of dog walkers walking across the fairway. Other players drinking cans of beer while they were playing. Extremely slow play and congested. Greens were in an awful state. Grass growing through the bunkers. The score cards were paper photocopies and one per the four ball.

Better than expected after reading mixed reviews.The course is in good shape (June 2013), has some challenging holes and is not expensive. I would compare it to Trent Park in north London.

Really loved playing this course. shame its now closed down!! very open wide fairways however also very hilly in places.

Pleasantly surprised. Heard a lot about potential closure and lack of interest but it was in good nick. With some tlc it has potential, for ?21 for a round you can't really complain. Great beginner course, big fairways and forgiving.
