another course in the Sheffield SIv group this has to be one of the best municipal courses in Yorkshire at the moment all credit to the grounds staff
the course is in excellent condition and playing well
the facilities are good and the food is good
all in all not bAD

Tough course for my handicap but very enjoyable. The greens were in very god condition for this early in the season, fast and difficult to read (for me anyway). normally I putt around 32/34 today was 44.

Course has now dried out and is playing very well at the moment. Always a scenic course especially on a clear sunny morning as on the day we played.

Great course with great views. I would say it is a course of two halves, on one side of a lane the holes are all on a hillside and so slope quite a lot on the other side of the lane the holes are mostly on the level, several streams run through this course waiting to catch you out. On the whole a trickier course than the par suggests.

Due to the adverse weather there are 10 temporary greens(some of which are terrible) and very boggy in areas even on the fairways.
Very heavy underfoot and therefore hard to score well at the moment

Beauchief is a very picturesque course laid out on a steep wooded hillside with lots of streams. There is therefore an over abundance of lateral water (and 1 lake) to negotiate. Together with fairly narrow fairways and out of bounds pressing in the fairways are not forgiving and neither is the rough. Flat lies are few and on some holes you need power to reach the short grass from the tee. As a beginner I find this course too demanding and tiring but It's easy to see why good golfers like it.

For a municipal course, the course is in very good condition and the greens, in particular, were in good condition and well paced. Very scenic views on this course.
