What the club says: Beauchief is a meadowland course situated in the south west of Sheffield. For Men, there are 6 par 3 holes and one par 5, a length of 5606 yards off white tees giving a par of 67 and a Standard Scratch Score of 66. For Ladies, 6 par 3 holes and 3 par 5, a total of 5029 yards off red tees giving a par of 69 and SSS of 69.
There are views to the hills of the Peak District and Beauchief Abbey provides a major feature within the site. A number of holes cross a stream which drains through the course and one par 3 (for Men) crosses a pond. There are trees both around and within the course.

Lovely course and hospitality, very wet though !
We had a society day in late September 2019 here and all 15 of us turned up in blinding rain with the course thankfully open. OUr bacons and drinks were lovely beforehand and the clubhouse serves the course well. The Pro Shop is well stocked with the latest gear and they really looked after us with the course being on 9 temps. Having played the 18 we had pie and peas which was absolutely fine, a few chips would have been better, but no complaints. The course is a great lay out but in rain it suffers really badly with holding water and I would not play it again in that weather. But, I will definitely be back on a dry day to replay some of the wonderful holes and layout.

A very hilly course

Hidden gem
Society of 16 played and the course was in great nick the course was well manicured and interesting to play,The breakfast we had was delicious .Will return definitely next year.

Good course and getting better
I've played 'the royal and ancient' as it's called in these parts since the 80s. Gosh, it was horrid back then! Now, almost unrecognisable as the same course. Yes, it's very short. Yes, it's got loads of crossovers and fairways very close together.
BUT - there's some fine (and quite hard) holes - the 7th, the 10th (my first EVER par!), too many par 3s, but the 4th and 11th are excellent holes.
And there's some lovely views - notably from the 2nd and 14th tees.
The 1st is a truly treacherous starting hole, take plenty of club and don't miss the fairway!

Nice course, shame about the committee
Unfortunately just as my group was about to tee off we were approached by a committee member, the captain, who informed us casual play was not allowed from the White tees.Had he bothered to enquire he would have found out that we are members and were playing in the monthly medal, certainly not the way to attract and retain members. Overall the course was in good condition and the greens were running great.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 91 Handicap: 17.6)

Bank Holiday round,looking tied.
Went to Beauchief for a change, course looks a bit tied and in need of some tlc. Nice course but a little neglected!(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 97 Handicap: 25.2)

Fun course for all abilities
A mix of challenging par 4s and 3s with one par 5. Short but not easy. Rewards good shot makers and punishes the more wayward. Greens are usually is good nick. Worth a visit particularly for the views.

Many Thanks

Usual Birley, good condition.
Course in good condition although grass a tad long. About time they did something regards a café or something where you can get a drink and a sandwich. They have put the price up a quite a bit and is now getting to the stage where you can play private course for just a little more(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 102 Handicap: 26.7)

Nice course of which i like playing but very wet today.6 temp greens and 1 winter tee but yet still no sign of reducing the fee for playing unlike other courses not run by SIV???(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 98 Handicap: 26.6)
