Condition of course

For a public council run course it's not bad, could be better if as much time was spent not it as the rest of the sports center .Reception staff have no clue about tee times ,as I booked mine a week before and they still over booked my time slot and was told to squees in. Not enough rakes for bunkers ,

Good value round

Generally the course is in pretty good condition especially the greens. However the putting practise green which is huge is in a terrible state and nothing like the greens so making practise a waste of time.
Have to go to the pub down the road for a pint aftyerwards but thats not really a hardship

The course is scruffy despite the time of year and it has fallen behind other such courses in its category. For modest investment and some TLC it could really step up a level as it is a great layout. Much improved leaf clearance this year, however.

Course design good , rough is far too long for a parkland course can be upto a foot deep ! Greens ate ok bit bobbly .
Watch out for people walking dogs round the course as they dont look and they have priority over golfers . Especially bad on numbers 8 , 10, 11 .
Practise green needs mowing into decent green , grass range is good but only 130 yards but beware of a rude pro who isn't polite when asking you to leave as he has priority when teaching or practising , never heard of a pro having priority when practising .
Staff are young in centre and are polite and friendly . Members play on Tues and Thursday and weekends and in mornings so book after 11am weekdays and check at weekends normally ok after 12 .

Paying almost £30, even on a municipal course, we'd have hoped the greens would be far better than they were. Very sandy and heavily perforated, so incredibly slow and uneven, made it almost a new skill to learn altogether. Other than the greens, though, the course was quite nice.

Lots of holes with inappropriate rough, straight from fairway to deep. Greens a bit slow, and you can't get a pint after the round unless you're a member.
But the course looks good and has interesting holes.

No Café facilities, for bacon rolls etc, just tea and coffee! very water logged with lots of temporary greens!! not a great course to play after heavy rain! very little in the way of drainage.

9 temporary greens today. Would have been gutted if I had paid £25 green fees for that. Not sure I can see the point in protecting the greens when no doubt we will soon be due for yet another bout of hollow tining which will ruin them again for another 3 months anyway. Surely the point in doing the hollow tining is to help with drainage in order to keep the greens open.
