What the club says: The course explores existing pine woodland on holes 1 to 5, giving the course a distinctly mature and natural feel at the start of the round, then moving into areas which have been carefully and dramatically shaped before returning to the woodland again on 14. Each hole is unique and at 7,200 yards from the back tees it will challenge the very best golfers both in terms of their playing ability as well as their strategic approach to the game, whilst the five teeing grounds of varying length will allow all golfing abilities to enjoy their round. Many of the carries and rough areas have been sown using indigenous fescue grasses and occasionally these features have been added across the approaches to greens or across fairways giving the site a distinctly links feel.

AMAZING
this place will only get better, once the water hazard and practise range are finished. very private course(Round played: Sep 2020 - Score: 109 Handicap: 25.3)

Tough course
Always is great condition and also lots of work going on at the moment (building a new range). Greens are very difficult to read but a pleasure to be able to play there.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 85 Handicap: 5.8)

Wonderful challenging course
First few holes stunning with tree lined fairways, makes you think how to hit your shots. Would definitely return again in future(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 87 Handicap: 12)

Fantastic condition
Course is in great condition, greens superb and a pleasure to play there.Changing rooms spotless and half way house really good.
(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 77 Handicap: 8.6)

great greens good test
Lucky to be invited. Played off the silver tees which makes for a stern test especially in windy conditions.Superb large greens & well manicured throughout.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 93 Handicap: 10.2)

Fantastic condition, shame about the cost
Firstly, the course was in phenomenal condition given the recent weather, the greens were immaculate and the fairways also excellent. The design of the course is also very good, challenging with some interesting holes and certainly given the wind I played in, very difficult. The issue I have with the club lies in the fee as a members guest - £138. It feels very toppy compared to courses of equal quality. For example it is double that of the London Club that has also hosted European Tour events.
Equally, the course is right next to the M1 so you play with a constant hum of that road, and the trees that are patently in need of growing to cut that noise out or make the feel of a more exclusive venue are still in their early stages.
Overall if you get a chance to play, the course is well worth playing - however the fee puts me off playing it again and at that price I would rather play some of the more established courses that have already grown into their own character.

(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 98 Handicap: 20.3)

A few niggles. A green keeper was oblivious to us trying to putt out 20 yards away. Turn. The. Engine. Off. The paths are extremely rough for trollies it's really a buggy set up which is a shame. Not a single par four or five which asks you a question off the tee, every hole is a driver. Bunkers have a lot of stones and variable depth of sand. Very noisy coffee machine in upstairs bar.
Overall I'm not a great fan of courses with this level of exclusivity and I'd prefer a more old fashioned design. Don't think they have any plans to take green fees, but I understand they have been generous to local clubs in giving vouchers for charities, which is commendable. Comfortably a better design than the grove, certainly top 5 in Hertfordshire

Quality set up, play if invited!
Friend invited me to play here for 3rd time. Been a couple of years but remembered most of the holes; always a good sign. Superb condition with tour quality greens, tight beginning but opens up later. Very playable & if get a decent drive away consistently can score very well.(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 89 Handicap: 11.1)
