Course of two halves as has been mentioned. Played in a small society. Told by club we were not a society because of numbers so price went up for the round and buggies.
Worst customer service I have ever been subjected to at a golf club.
Not a pleasant welcome and food served as soon as we arrived back on the club house. Felt we were an real bother to the staff.
Met some pleasant members on the course however maybe they are immune to the service.
A functional clubhouse more akin to a cafe.
Will not be returning. Suggest they take a lesson from other clubs in the area such as Chichester, Chiddingfold and even that corporate entity Goodwood on welcoming paying customers!

Didnt rate this course at all. A lot of straight holes with not much imagination. (also I played very badly). The hotel on the course is a Hilton but again I didnt rate it and sadly I wouldnt recommend it to my golfing buddies.

Took a small society here that were two short of agreed numbers which I updated on the phone the day before our arrival together with a price adjustment upwards which was understandable. On arrival all members were informed by a rude member of staff that we were not a Society, in an arrogant and aggressive manner even though we wore identical Club shirts with our Society Logo ! It was obvious to us all that we were considered as trying to "get away with something" We had to ask for coffee to be served along with the bacon rolls,carts 30 pounds and a curt instruction to stay off the fairways.
Lunch on the table as soon as golfers returned from the course with no time to even wash hands and get a drink.
We are a Society established for many years and our collective opinion was that this was our worst experience ever, and we shall not return, not that anyone at Avisford would even care. The course incidentally was very good.

Nice course back 9 full of hills but very challenging nice relaxing bar for a nice beer after 4miles of walking and trying to find all my balls...

The course was too dear for a shorter course. They should explore senior discount greens fees. I found the course satisfactory for practicing my driver on all of the shorter par 4's. Greens were being verticut which made them quite bumpy.

if your not a member at weekends not able to book tee time before 10.30/11 am whether they are busy or not they would rather not take a booking and loose money

Played end of September 2013. Echoing many of the previous comments a course of two halves. First nine quite tight parkland track with lots of ditches and streams to be aware of. Back nine a lot more open and not as interesting. Greens were being prepared for winter when we played, those that were awaiting work were very good. (Might have been nice to know this was happening when we booked). Tee were OK but could have done with some care and attention.\\\\Having never played the course before signage on the back nine was poor on a couple of holes.\\\\The catering is not that terrific with the kitchen advertised as being open until 14.15. Arriving at 13.45 we seemed to be a bit of bother asking for food!!!!!! Also be aware no breakfast before 10.30am.\\\\Impression that this is a hotel course that is making its transition slowly and a bit painfully into a golf club.\\\\Met many friendly members on our round which was nice.\\\\Would play it again and was good value for money. Although did not have a buggy thought at £30.00 a bit on the expensive side.\\\\Marked the course down due to the green refurb.\\\\

Front 9 were very good. Back nine seemed a bit like they just found some land to extend onto, a bit hilly but some nice holes. Well kept. Clubhouse limited i think it was just a bar, no shop or anything.

Played Avisford on Saturday. Have played a few tims but the greens were in top nick- best I have ever seen them here. The course is to be honest on the easier side of things, and if you hit a big tee ball you will make mince meat of some of the par 4's. I play off 12 and went round in 75. That said, it is very good value for money especially 15 pounds twighlight which starts at 3pm.

Front nine very flat. but still interesting. 10th hole is a bit of a nightmare. then its a shame when you reach three par three,s in a row then a couple of nice holes to open up on but then another par three up the hill to finish, sometimes not knowing where the pin is or even the green.
