It is getting better
The new people have been cutting the grass better, the greens seem to be getting better in places some have huge dead patches that should be sectioned off a GUR ,the bunkers are mud holes with zero sand in them, honestly they are dreadful, don't ruin your clubs in them..The tee on the dog leg has been cut off and now you play from the ladies tee, which makes the hole a very short par 4 the tee wants reinstating as it is a good hole other than no maintenance. You can play for as little as £15 midweek now so it is worth a visit, just bare with these new guys as hopefully they are making progress with their plans of maintenance. I hope it does not end up like Brandon woods run down for a housing project...

Needs some TLC
In general this is a nice course just 2 mins from the m6.It is set out well with a mixture of driveable par 4s and some long par 3s. The only concern I would raise would be the bunkers have very little sand and weeds growing in them and some of the greens looking very worn. With some TLC and maybe a full time green keeper this course would get 5 out of 5.
Nice set up with the club house between holes 9 and 10 so you can get refreshments and/or extra balls!

Good track for practice
This course was taken over by new management beginning of June 2021, the course itself needs a little tlc as it was not looked after by previous owners. That said the greens were rolling nicely and if it wasn't for a few patches they would be excellent. Fairways are well mown with the odd patch and divot hole left untreated, in the most part they were very nice. Tee boxes and bunkers really need some work, the tees are patchy, uneven and grass is quite long on them and the bunkers (if you can call them that) have no sand in them at all, its basically just like a stoney mud hole and they are still in play!! The layout has a mix of long and short holes with 3 par 5s, 4 par 3s and the rest par 4s. It would seem they are renovating the club house inside but you can still get a drink from the bar.£22 for 18 holes midweek is asking a bit much considering the condition of the course at the moment.
Im sure this will improve given enough time.
Overall not a bad place to play it's just a little scruffy around the edges.

New management
The new manager does not like replying to genuine emails, his staff cannot even give you prices of tee times for 9 holes because they don't want you playing 9 holes even though the back 9 is in bad condition.Paul the manager is not good at customer services.
Sorry will not be paying to play here again with such rude management.

It truelly is a shame that this course has no proper green keeper or regular maintenance.
It is a practice knock and that is it.It's not a hard course but the things mentioned make it hard, you cannot putt well on these greens.
Sorry to be honest.

Ansty GC, needs work and serious investment
Fancied a round after work while in Coventry area, sounded out Ansty GC and they said it would be no problem to get a round. Arrived and went to pro-shop. Think I was met by the pro, who, at first was pleasant enough, but then after I'd paid, his demeanor changed and he became a little on the rude side. Wasn't impressed. There is a medium sized putting green outside the pro-shop with driving range just beyond this, so pretty decent off-course facilities. Anyway, went to the 1st tee and off I set. Now, I'm not sure if the course is lacking in investment, but there needs to be some serious work done here. The tee-boxes and fairways need some serious work on them, but it was the greens that were a massive disappointment. It looked like they had been patched up, just like a patchwork quilt. Putting was near on impossible. Understandably the bunkers have had no work done on them, and a lot of them had weeds and grass growing in them. The course didn't look like it had been watered, as it was very bare and dry in a lot of places. I did enjoy my round in the late afternoon April sunshine and the locals I met on my way round were friendly. There are some good holes at Ansty, with the 7th and 9th on the front 9, good holes. The back 9 is the better of the 2 loops of 9, with the par-3 10th with water in front, to the side and behind the green, the par-4 11th, with a wide fairway, but water in front of the green and the long par-4 12th is a great test of driver and fairway wood to reach a wicked sloping green. Probably the best hole on the course. The 14th is a short par-4 that is a 90 degree dogleg that forces a 3 wood off the tee through narrow trees. The 15th is a par-4 with trees about 150 yards from the tee, to go over or if your lucky, through them to a wide-ish fairway with an approach to a small green and the 17th a sweeping dogleg left downhill. ?18 for 18 holes after 4pm was good value, but the course was a disappointment. I'm afraid I won't be returning when I'm next in the area. A bit of a shame, as this could be a lovely course with a bit more TLC. I never saw anyone working on any tee, fairway or green which says a lot.Reviewer Rating
