This course handles wet weather very well. We played in mid-December and the course was playing all holes on summer greens.

Gem of a course. Although on the coast it is a parkland course, very testing but with fantastic scenary. Course was in excellent condition.
Members were very friendly.

Played Alnmouth as part of the 'Coastal Classics' deal and really enjoyed the experience. Course was very well maintained and everything was neat and tidy. Found the greens very fast but true. It was strange playing off parkland turf with the sea about 50 yards away but this made the experience all the more unique. Lady in pro shop was very friendly as were the staff in the clubhouse and the members we spoke to. This club really does welcome and value visitors as opposed to just saying it. View from the clubhouse bar over 18th green was enjoyable and the highlight of the round has to be the par 3 hole which runs along the beach. I guess the only minor downside was that the greenkeepers were unable to cut the grass in the morning due to fog so we were followed around by greenkeepers on their mowers for 5 or 6 holes. This was a bit annoying but couldnt be helped and cant fault the club for it.

Weather overcast. Other than a couple of puddles on the 1st couple of holes the course was in excellent condition considering the recent weather.

Awesome course.
8th Dec 2011. wind was gusting at 50-60mph. Driving rain turned to icy sleet by the time we got to the 12th. Greens were true and fantastic for the time of year. Amazing traditional clubhouse. Hot beef sandwich to die, eaten by the real open fire in the bar that was a god send after what was total endurance golf in the most extreme conditions I have ever played in.

Evening Golf at Foxton

Great round at Alnmouth Foxton with a free 4 ball given to us but Carl struggling to play all 18 as he had hurt his ribs.....I played okay and enjoyed the course with the greens, whilst not as good as Alnmouth Village, still being great to putt on....windy but helped on some of the holes on the back 9

Worth a visit

Used teeofftimes and got a game for?20. Friendly reception, pro was very helpful explained the layout. The course is challenging but fair. The condition was very good no issues with tees or greens. Good pace of play, helped by being let through by four members . A strong breeze meant some long approaches, but then turning with the wind gave birdie opportunities.
I didn't have time to eat, but the clubhouse looks good. A change from my usual day at dunstanburgh but I wasn't disappointed.
