What The Club Says

Founded in 1891 and designed by Old Tom Morris, this par 70 course is well known throughout the North East for having the best greens and being open all year due to the tremendous natural drainage. We attract far travelling visitors as well as local golfers who return year after year.

Fantastic course

Beautiful links course, 9 Holes, but clever tee positions make it a good 18 hole course played over the same 9 twice. Views of Coquet Island and the North East coast are spectacular, as is the golf course.

Fantastic course

A great links course. The first 3 holes are really tough, rough down both sides and a tricky carry on the 3rd, and even tricker when you play it as the 12th. After this, as you head to the upper level of the course, it opens out a lot more, just don't leak the ball right! Stunning views of Coquet Island, Amble and Warkworth Castle. Proper links golf, friendly members, all in all, golf as it should be.

Great day excellent value

l saw the review by a Sky TV correspondent on Warkworth & being on holiday near I decided to play a round there. I love the history that goes with the game and the fact that Old Tom Morris designed the original course added to the day. I do not often have the chance to play links golf it certainly offers a different challenge. I struggled a little on the front 9, its a 9 hole course, but greatly improved second time round paring the last four holes including the 249 yd par 3. Love to go back again.

Great day out

Lovely links course. Nine holes but two sets of tee positions means there is interesting variation over 18 holes. The elevated tee for the first hole makes for an excellent start and the middle holes where you tee off over the gorge are also very memorable. Not a long course but the wind, contours and pot bunkers give plenty to think about. Greens in good condition. Overall a great day out and only £10 for 18 holes brilliant value.
