What the club says: The course is located within minutes of the main A1 above Alnwick Town Centre, we are 30 miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed and 32 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne. Originally created in 1907 and built on mature parkland the course offers spectacular views of the Capability Brown designed local countryside, extending to the sea 6 miles away.

The layout is superb with the 18 holes stretching over 6,250 yards and not too clustered together so that each holes feels less like an extension of the others, and more like an individual challenge in its own right. There are many natural hazards that can play havoc with any stray shots, including open grassland and gorse - home for many lost golf balls. The course provides a far test of golf with a mix of par threes, fours and fives. Our signature hole is the 12th known as the 'Lang Whang' - it is an uphill dog leg (left) par 5 culminating in a raised green - a par here or better and you'll be delighted.

New alnwick

Course has a new layout ind is a big improvement giving you time to warm up for the old 3rd killer hole. The fairways are in good nick the odd green are still patchy but 90% are vertually bare making almost impossible. Been told they are gonna put water sorinklers on all greens so hopefully grass will grow back. Food still fantastic

Played this course 25 April 2022 felt very disappointed the course is undergoing major building works and some of the holes are a building site with temporary tees and the 18th is a fair way temp hole on top of that the greens had just been hollowtined this week, I found the course shabby and in need of good house keeping my advise would be to avoid this course this year until all the work is completed then I think it’s a nice parkland course which I would love to play again

My favorite Northumberland course

What a course, stunning views, challenging holes but a little forgiveness for us high handicappers and very friendly staff and members. The greens were playing fast and the fairways flowing. Some lovely downhill fairways to make you think you're a big hitter if you get the bounce right. Absolutely love this course though a buggy is recommended if you're fat like me and can't be bothered to trek up hills ????
Would play here every week if it weren't for the distance to travel. Well done all at Alnwick. Cracking course and so much fun.

Immaculate Condition

We played Alnwick today 2nd October 2019 and the course is immaculate condition. Full credit to the greenkeeping staff as the greens are the best we have played all year. Two ball for £20 via promotion voucher must be the deal of the year !

Always a pleasure to play

Our society returned back after a gap of three years and once again would find it hard to fault the venue. Friendly and relaxed clubhouse, warm welcome, lovely butties and the course in rude health. Played on a Friday morning after the early rush and had the course to ourselves almost. It won't be long before we're back.

good coarse

first couple of holes are very challenging if walking a buggy would be advisable for more elderly golfers, after that the coarse is quite a bit flatter although still hilly in places, lovely views over Alnwick and out to sea, wide fairways and the greens were brilliant.
