Falconwood-Underappreciated
I needed to be in the area on Sunday and was looking for a cheap round. The Championship course was pretty busy, and I was sent over to Falconwood. After reading reviews I was expecting the worse but was pleasantly surprised. The course is ideal for beginners with fairly open fairways. I'd read poor reviews of the greens, but they appeared to have been doing a lot of repair work, and you could tell where spots had been replanted. However they were consistent and very soft. I saw very few bare spots on fairways, and my only real issue was with the state of the teeboxes.Regarding other features, if you're on foot, the lack of a bar and changeroom is a slight pain, as it's an uphill walk back to the main clubhouse across the road. however the shop at Falconwood had good prices, and the young woman working there was very helpful. Overall it seems they are definitely working on upgrading their offer. I would definitely play again,
