Nice setting
This course is set in a very nice part of the country. But the course does not live up expectations. Greens, bunkers and most of tees are good but some of the fairways are poor and the course just wasn't that interesting. A shame as it was such a nice day. Also in comparison to 'home' courses, was on the expensive side for a Visitor - but other courses in the area were also on the pricey side.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 90 Handicap: 17.6)

This course is in terrible condition. I have never seen fairways in as bad condition as this before in my life! There is hardly any grass on the fairways, it's like playing from mud no matter where your ball comes to rest. The photos of the fairways on the website or Google are in no way alike to the what the course is actually like for real. There is more grass on a rugby pitch after it's been chewed up by a Sunday league team than there is on this course.Dont waste your time, play elsewhere. Even Shrivenham Park Golf Club is in better condition and that's hard to believe but true!
Furthermore, at peak times they are charging £35 for 18 holes!! Ridiculous! for that money you could play at Bowood House, The players or The Kendleshire....Proper golf courses!

Society visit to South Cerney
Very welcoming club, course in good condition for the time of year- dry no temporary tee boxes or greens. Bit of run on the fairways, green receptive but rolled true. Fairways very open and forgiving to the high handicappers or big hitters. Small driving range to warm up on with an insert coin ball machine to make it easier. Lots of new trees which will make the course more of a challenge in the future.Reviewer Rating

Friendly and enjoyable
As others have said, fairly flat newish course which is a good challenge for mid to high handicappers but less so for low handicappers. After the 2018 summer drought the fairways and tees were "struggling" but the greens were excellent. When the wind got up some of the holes were certainly challenging. Friendly welcome in the pro shop and service with a smile afterwards in the bar lounge. Facilities fairly basic but good value golf and food.Reviewer Rating

Nice course, but terrible greens
Pleasant layout with some interesting holes. Fairways were in excellent conditions.Greens Let down by the crazy amount of sand they had dumped on them. Not fine sand but chunks of sand. When your ball landed on the green a cloud of sand with erupt up into the air.
At one point a green keeper who was mowing the greens while we played, drove on to the green, picked up our balls (plus the flag) and then carried on mowing. Once finished returned the balls to where he thought they were, we were a bit bemused by this.
Amenities were good, nice chipping and putting area which a large driving range. Large Bar with friendly staff. Pro-shop a little small but contained everything I needed.

Good value for money
I play here regularly and it offered the right amount of challenge for some of a mid to high range handicap. If you have a low handicap you may find it a bit easy. However, you must be careful on the greens as they can be quite slippery.(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 84 Handicap: )
