Played on a sunny day (24th sept) and must say it was superb.Everything about the place oozes class. On top of all that we only paid £180 for our four ball which included coffee and bacon rolls and a meal after we played on seve's gem,the masters 18 holes.Quirky layout but that adds to the enjoyment.Seve, what a legend!!!

Very very good, reduced green rate because some work on greens, but they still played better than most good course. Loved it.

Water comes into play a lot on this course, and it starts early with a par 3 first that is surrounded by the stuff, and finishes with an uphill par 4 that seems to be more pond than green.

This isn't a course that will roll over and let you tickle its tummy. With lots of deep bunkers, lots of water, and tricky greens, you will have to earn pretty much everything you get. However, with 4 sets of tees you can choose the tee that suits your game, and the fairways aren't especially tight.

My favourite hole? Probably the short par 3 7th. Obviously it's over water.

I hope to go back and play it again, but not with the game I took with me today.

Amazing course excellent facilities great greens but a very narrow layout with hazards strategically placed to force you to think your way around. The course feels like it has been designed to punish anyone but the truly big (and very straight) hitters. There's always sensible option with less risk and with the rough virtually impossible to escape I'd recommend a practice round to learn where to pick your battles.

With 6 par 3's, 6 par 4's and 6 par 5's, there was lots of variety and a real challenge. The course was in great condition, with very well maintained fairways and greens. There was also plenty of water to contend with. The layout was beautiful and it was clear that the course had been very well looked after.

Interesting course not for the feint hearted

The famous Seve Ballesteros designed course is a very nice course indeed. A bit of a mash up of varying styles from Links to classic Mediterranean gives a slightly confusing identity but it has been done very well. LOTS of water to kill your score but on the whole a great test of skill and nerve. The club house is OK, but could do with some more character and the very impersonal ordering of drinks and food via phone app is a let down.
Definitely one to experience but think you're paying more for the Seve association than anything else.

Nice course, unique layout

Play here regularly and its always in great shape. Unusual mix of holes, 6 of each par 3,4 and 5. Lots of water. Can be a bit slow sometimes but this day was fine after a slow start.

Coastal feeling parkland course

A funny course to play, with a very coastal links type feel to it for a parkland course. Plenty of undulation and some deceptive looking holes. Some of the best greens I've played on in the UK however, fast, true and very tricky!

Nice Parkland Course

Nice parkland course well laid out, the greens are so fast, be prepared for 5 hour rounds at this time. They are packing golfers in like sardines. Is it VFM no, not at ?60 pounds worth more like ?30. I know Seve designed the course, but you don't have to raise the price. There are better courses in and around the shire if you look. I would play again ,but only if the price was a lot lower.
Would i recommend ,yes it is worth a round ,just to check out a champion course

Really interesting course and well worth a visit. Having 6 par 5s you would think there’s a score to had - think again - it’s tough. Greens immaculate and rapid when we played. Bit pricey at £60. A few standout holes but leading that race was the 18th. Great risk reward hole when you’re better ball match play is on the line. One main negative was it was a 5 hour round ! The halfway BBQ food was a nice touch and lovely !
