Played at the shire on the 18/10/18 on arrival the welcome was very friendly the four of us ordered the shire full English breakfast it arrived quickly and was cooked to perfection and a pretty good price
Out on the course we found it very interesting to play certainly not a course where you can just blast off the tee with the driver. The greens were having work carried out on them so difficult to comment on how they normally play but I wouldn’t mind questing that they get very fast overall every thing at the shire was presented very nicely all the staff were friendly and efficient I can’t comment on value for money as I fortunately didn’t pay
We all agreed that we would re visit next spring

So so good

Each time play here I find I enjoy it more and more. The layout is really good and a fun quirky mixture of holes - obviously no 2 consecutive holes on each 9 are the same par so it keeps it interesting.

Place is also in unreal condition, nothing out of place and the green running the fastest I have ever seen them - a real defense for the course.

Straight hitters course with distance control required.

Practice chipping area and driving range for the pre match warm up!

Course is very well laid out and the best part for me was the par 3s, all seemed to be island green with water on all but one, very tight driving course with real penial rough or gorse either side of the fairways.

Par 72 with 6 par 3s, 4s,5s very windy day so bit of a slog on some, greens in good condition

Changing rooms with showers and towels nice touch after a 90 mile drive.

£60 a round weekdays, £75 at weekends would I pay that? For me NO

Played 6/7 courses last month or so, none compare to the condition and challenge of the Shire London. Greens in superb condition and constant works going on to improve what is already a fantastic golf course.

three words to describe it, wow wow wow. book iton the day you want to lay it as the price was discounted on the day by 15.00 pounds. take plenty of balls as there is plenty of water. take your medicine from the rough.only used driver on a few holes as accuracy off the tee is vital. holes where the wind is howling take extra club. course was lovely greens were good, nothing to fault well worth playing.

One of the best courses in London. Toughest start to any course I've played, par 3 over water where 3 of 4 us plonked in.

Tough but fair course where you don't have to be the straightest but you can blob a lot of holes, hence score

Haven't seen anything like it in the UK

Lovely challenging course - very much requires a strategic approach to many of the holes. It had the feeling of a Spanish course at times, understandable given the background - but with lots (and lots) of water. Very enjoyable round.

An absolute must llay

What a golf course. Booked for my dad’s birthday and always wanted to play it. Made the journey and was absolutely worth it. Hospitality was excellent, the pro’s were helpful and even gave us a discounted rate which was brilliant. Food was good too. Golf course was fantastic: layout, condition, everything. Challenging but fair, fairways absolutely immaculate considering the weather this year has destroyed most golf courses. Greens slopey but fair. Every hole has a challenge and designed perfectly by the GOAT. Love the fact the clubhouse has pictures and memorabilia everywhere. Really is a special place. An absolute must play.

Stunning Course

Golfshake Team ReviewWhere do I start....This course is a must play for all golfers. The clubhouse has loads of pictures of Seve to get you in the mood. 6 par 3's, 4's and 5's. Each hole has you thinking from the tee shot to the putting on each green. It's not a "blasters" track and driver isn't really needed for the majority of tee shots. Bunkers and water come into play on most shots so any errant shots can really punish you. The greens are as tricky as you will find, don't know about buried elephant under the green more like buried elephants!! Really was a pleasure to play on such a top quality course that you can see has Seve's stamp all
Over it.

Played today and this is quite simply one of the best courses I have ever played. The course is imaculate, the practice facilities are very good and the club house and staff are brilliant.

The signature 18th pays homage to Seve with an "S" shape water feature which will give any golfer problems if disrespected.

A level head and accuracy off the tee is a must on this course.

4 tee distances on every hole offers a challenge to golfers of all abilities.

Simply amazing, just wish I could afford the membership!

A superb course. The layout is brilliant. Seve done a fantastic job with this course. Hard to rate as the course was totally frozen all day so couldn't hit a green. Staff were very helpful. breakfast was good.
The Seve S on the last hole is a must for any golfer. I will return in the summer for another crack at it. A must play course in my opinion

I recently organised a society day for 28 of us and right from minute one of arriving the staff at The Shire could not have been more helpful. They were superb in every department from reception, starter, bar staff and greens keepers. Superb.
As for the course, it was a treat playing this fascinating Seve designed gem even in mid December. Yes there was a bit of light mud around but this is England! The fairways were in v good nick and the greens were just superb for this time of year running fast and true. The course is a great layout, very interlinked but virtually every hole is blind so every hole was a surprise when you tee'd up. That was a great part of it. There is a lot of water out there so choose your club off the tee wisely, DO NOT default set using your driver on every par 4 or 5 as I guarantee it'll be a watery grave at some point.
Even when buying prizes in the shop after our round the staff were doing their best on discounts for me and the meal after was great too. A superb day, on a top course, with great staff. Would love to play this in summer. A treat.
