What the club says: The course at Arkley Golf Club has the honour of having been designed by the legendary golf course architect James Braid in 1909. The man from Fife won the Open on five occasions and was just as adept with a pencil in his hand as a golf club, offering his golden touch to many of the most popular and well loved courses in Britain.

This is an excellent 9 Hole course. Different tees make it a complete 18 holes.
The greens were in very good condition despite the drought.

Course design makes it a good test thanks to bunkering, but the course set up ensures few lost balls and therefore good pace of play

A Fine Day and a Sandy Course

A cold but sunny day, course well drained and fairways well groomed. A few muddy paths but far less than other local courses. Excellent lunch and a very friendly clubhouse.

Worth a visit

Played in wet, windy & cold conditions. No trolleys allowed as a precaution to protect the course. Friendly & courteous staff & members.

This is a really challenging course, well worth a visit. Add to that friendly and helpful staff and you have a winner. Some relaxing of rules to keep all golfers happy would be a help but this is true of a small minority of courses.

The course at Arkley is a real treat, the course is well managed and very difficult. Was a bit pricy at £25 for a nine hole course but defiantly worth a go.

A nine hole course with two sets of tees. The tees were not significantly different enough to give a fuller feeling of a 18 hole course, so consequently a good 9 hole course, but only a fair 18 hole (that it markets itself on). The course was in good condition.

9 Holes but 18 really different tees, some holes are par 4s first time round and par 5s the second (8th hole 409 yards par 4 then as 17th 504 yards par 5). The 2nd hole is 173 yards (par 3) then as the 11th 216 yards (par 3). It's amazing how different a hole can be just by moving the tee 20 yards or so in one direction or another! Lovely tree lined course, very peaceful, in fantastic condition. Great greens... really fast and try (Aug 2013). Very friendly members and staff. A MUST play course... don't be put off by the "9 hole" thing. And fab value.
